Typical Accountabilities
- Responsible for the 24/7 support of
Oracle or MSSQL production database services to ensure the highest standards of availability, resilience, integrity, security and performance required by the business systems. - Monitoring
- Backup & Restore
- Database Installation, Creation
- User Creation
- Data Copy
- Data Migration
- High availability (RAC for Oracle & Always On for MSSQL)
- Performance Tuning
- Patching
- Disaster Recovery Setup
Essential Skills
- Curious mind, good interpersonal skills, and excellent technical skills in the area of DBA administration
- Strong Oracle or MSSQL Database Administration experience
- Good in data restore/recovery techniques
- Experience in performance tuning
- Experience of working in a team that delivers a high availability service
- Practical experience in monitoring and tuning a database to provide a high availability service
- Knowledge on operating systems (Win/Unix/Linux)
- Scripting knowledge would be an added advantage
- ITIL knowledge is a must
