PennEngineering is seeking a motivated, excited, individual to be a part of the PennAutoTeam. As the Commercial Support Specialist at PennEngineering, you will collaborate with teams that do amazing things.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
This role combines customer service, inside sales, and administrative support responsibilities to ensure efficient operations and high levels of customer satisfaction. The position supports the commercial team with client communication, sale processes, reporting, and daily administrative tasks, playing a key role in business continuity and customer engagement.
Customer Service & Client Support:
· Serve as a point of contact for customer inquiries, ensuring timely and professional communication.
· Assist customers with product information, order status, and service support.
· Follow up on customer feedback and ensure issues are addressed promptly.
· Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, complaints, and resolutions.
· Ensure customer master data is accurate and up to date in the system, upload new customers into the system
· Coordinate internally with production, logistics, and engineering to provide accurate information to customers.
Inside Sales Support:
· Assist with quoting, order entry, and processing of sales transactions.
· Support with lead follow-up, client outreach, and proposal preparation.
· Support track and manage sales opportunities and client records.
· Ensure system pricing and part information is current and maintained accurately
o Support tracking and management of E & O inventory to reduce financial exposure
o Communicate with customers regarding forecast ramp-downs to align supply, avoid overproduction, and optimize inventory.
o Investigate drops in customer order volumes to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions in conjunction with Shipping & Warehouse Operations Associate.
Administrative & Operational Support:
· Maintain organized records of quotes, customer files, and commercial documentation
· Support invoicing, purchase orders, expense tracking, and document control needs
· Provide input for internal reports and presentations for sales and business development teams
· Assist with general office tasks and provide backup support for the Warehouse & Material Planner as needed
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
· High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
· 2+ years of experience in customer service, sales support, or administrative roles.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with CRM software is a plus.
· Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
· Positive, team-oriented attitude with a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
· Strong understanding of fastener products and their applications in the automotive industry.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-centric approach.
