The Role:


The
Lead Electrical Engineer (Motor Control PCB) will work directly with the Research and Development Manager to lead the PCB, firmware and housing design, testing, and production of linear actuator control systems.

The role will be design focused and if designs are successful, will progress to leading the expansion and supervision of the electrical design team.


Primary Responsibilities:


  • PCB, firmware and housing design, testing, and production of linear actuator control systems.
  • Integrate the following into control system design.
  • RF remote control
  • Integration with
  • Wi-Fi
  • Matter
  • Bluetooth
  • Controller Area Network
  • Select components based on availability and costeffectiveness for local and overseas manufacturing.
  • Work with the manufacturers to bring the highest quality and most costeffective products to market, in an efficient timeline.
  • Create systems and procedures for the purpose of ensuring the highest quality, knowledge retention and expansion of the team.
  • Once team expands, train and supervise new team members.

Secondary Responsibilities:


  • Reverse engineer and improve on legacy motor control PCBs.
  • Build test equipment and conduct inhouse product stress testing.
  • Outline and supervise QC testing.
  • Produce technical datasheet, instruction manuals, and internal product education package.
  • Lead internal product education campaign.
  • Work with the Marketing team to research new products and launch products produced.
  • Identify, resolve, and document product issues based on customer feedback, prior product updates, and inhouse testing.
  • Propose procedural and equipment improvements to increase efficiency and quality of work.

Required Skills and Experiences:


  • Advanced knowledge and experience of motor controls and noise cancellation generated by the motors on the quadrature / digital position feedback.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in PCB design in motor controls.
  • Minimum bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, or a similar field of study.
  • Strong project management, organizational and revision keeping skills.
  • North American manufacturing standards and certification.
  • Parts sourcing based on availability and cost as produced overseas.
  • Strong communication skills to work with manufacturers and suppliers overseas.
  • High attention to detail and standard for quality.
