Description
Management of assets that have a high impact on company expenses, operational plans and customer service. Single point of accountability for the control and delivery of precise Dimensional Clearance data of railway infrastructure.

Develops and implements processes for the creation of Dimensional Protection Notices for the safe movement of Dimensional shipments worth in excess of $50 M revenue on an annual basis.


Accountabilities

  • Accountable for the accurate preparation and prompt issuance of Dimensional Protection Notices ensuring compliance to company policy, rule and regulations, GOI (General Operating Instructions) while safeguarding company interests.
  • Able to positively deal with changes and adapt to shifting priorities in response to the needs of internal and external customers. Quickly recognise situations/concerns where change is needed. Work to clarify situations where information, instructions or objectives are ambiguous.
  • Responsible for determining requirements for Dimensional Special Train service for shipments which are excessively weight restricted, large or that will generate negative residual effects to regular traffic. Provide guidance and direction to internal and external customers and foreign railways. Develop specific heavy duty car E-Ratings for maintaining precise and current heavy duty car category database.
  • Accountable for the selection, acquisition and distribution of heavy capacity railcars moving over the entire network to meet customer requirements.
  • Provide process improvements and recommendations for enhancements to the Dimensional Clearance Application to improve efficiencies.
  • Execute/plan and participate as required in field clearance surveys and post processing of clearance data to allow for the sustainment of precise and current obstruction records within the database and track chart formats.
  • Evaluate infrastructure clearance designs to ensure railway line clearances compatibility, accepting or recommending alterations or solutions.
  • Develop heavy shipment axle loads and consist axle loading and spacings to allow for the generation of Dimensional shipment E-Ratings.
  • Accountable for assessing field requests for temporary reduced clearances providing approval or recommending alternatives to allow acceptance, protecting same.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, preferably in a jobrelated major field of study.
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English).
