Job Position Purpose / Summary

  • Senior MechanicalEngineer for a medical industry with a high level of knowledge in mechanical automated systems, to solve problems to the root cause, propose improvements for the current systems and new integrations for the manufacturing area, to improve process and machine reliability.
  • The Senior Mechanical Engineer is an individual contributor that provides expertise and leadership in order to improve operational and maintenance standards, solve problems and drive improvement within our current processes and new projects.

Job Position Accountabilities- Implement and promote working Safe practices as well as ensure proper function of the different operator protection systems.- Providing solutions to the root cause in complex mechanical and process problems, with the final approach to reduce or eliminate recurrence as well as reduce the down time in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.- Prepare and release technical reports and standards to strengthen maintenance and operations practices related to mechanical engineering field, in order to increase machine availability.- Develop and implement mechanical engineering strategies to increase machine and process reliability, as well as technical capabilities at production floor level.- Implement actions to effectively reduce scrap in our process in collaboration with process engineers, electrical engineers and shift technicians.- Support Maintenance / Reliability strategies in order to increase machine up time.- Proactively find opportunities in the mechanical field and beyond to drive productivity, reducing scrap and increasing machine's up time.- Provide leadership in the mechanical field during transfer or improvement projects, evaluating and providing recommendations related to the system design to avoid future issues in automated and semi-automated processes.- Drive validation activities related to the mechanical field to effectively conclude Installation qualification and overall process validation according to medical device standard.- Develop and maintain cross training program plan for all electromechanical engineers and technicians- Lead mechanical improvement initiatives to optimize equipment performance.- Work together with external mechanical or process engineers during transfer projects and / or changes to products that ensure the correct validation of our processes.- Participate in validation activities as required from the installation phase until the equipment is qualified / validated.- Write procedures required for proper mechanical operation and equipment maintenance.- Make sure that all the mechanical protections of SOA and Loto work correctly.- Participate actively during the MRA (Machine Risk Assessment) and identification of Critical Task.- Propose the use of different materials in the maintenance of equipment to improve its durability and without affecting the quality of the products.- Design or redesign parts of equipment that ensure an improvement in the performance of the equipment.- Be "accountable" in the mechanical problems of parts that wear out in a consistent manner, proposing new materials and / or parts that help reduce the time dropped.- Make sure that the documentation for scheduled maintenance covers the mechanical needs required to avoid downtime after maintenance.- Review the changed parts in shifts where it is not normally working to do a root cause investigation because of its wear and tear and provide ideas for improvement and execution of maintenance.- Propose improvements to the TPM according to reliability analysis "Reliability".- Generate "Reliability" analysis to propose adjustments to the inventories and optimize by reducing the costs generated by preventive or corrective maintenance.- Make mechanical level adjustments and mechanical synchronization of automated equipment.

Skills/Education/Competencies-SCHOOL: Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical, Mechatronic, Industrial, or related career
