The EHS Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the site's ESH Management system, which includes achieving the goals and procedures established by ESH, such as the environmental, health, risk, and industrial safety programs as well as the plant's security programs.

Facilitating risk assessment at site based on advance knowledge of regulatory requirements. Establishing and directing development and achievement of EHS objectives and targets. Determining leading/lagging indicators to track performance.

  • Degree completed Environmental, Industrial Engineer or equivalent
  • 35 years of experience in similar position.
  • English 80%.
  • Execution of EHS strategies with a high contribution to the business.
  • Development of procedures in health, safety and industrial hygiene and environment
  • Comply with the Mexican environmental laws as well as Mercury guidelines
  • Responsible for all the legal permits with SEMARNAT, PROFEPA, SEDUE, JMAS, Ecología and Protección Civil, ensuring that operations can be performed with sustainability and with no harm to people or the environment.
  • Keep upper management informed about the performance of the environmental management system for its review, including improvement recommendations.
  • Responsible for all the legal permits with STPS, SS, and COFEPRIS, ensuring that operations can be performed with no harm to the health of the employees, visitors or suppliers of Mercury.
  • Comply with all the ESH standards and policies, as well as to enter and validate metric data, incidents, campaigns and other information required by ESH Suite.
  • Perform the annual "Risk Assessment and ESH Self-Assessment "Work with the leadership team and ESH element champions to complete annual site level risk assessment and annual evaluation of compliance for EHS country, state and local regulations
  • Lead management review meetings with leadership team and keep up to date minutes and actions. Maintain the leadership team informed about the performance of the EHS activities.
  • Follow up on the completion of the internal and external ESH audits assessments as well as the closure of any nonconformance reports generated.
  • Provide mandatory and/or other necessary safety, health, environmental and security training to employees.
  • Follow up on the completion of actions generated by external audits from the government or other third parties.
  • Support creation of gals for the site manager and appropriate goals for the leadership team, functional manager and supervisors to drive EHS culture, compliance and results.
  • Represent the plant in safety meetings carried out by the AMAC safety committee.
  • Actively participate in the investigation of accidents/incidents and report the events and conclusions to the site leadership team, corporate and ESH suite. Direct actions during crises.
  • Coordinate and manage all activities of the ESH department.
  • Evaluate and develop the sites ESH team.
