Description


This position is responsible for managing maintenance programs and processes to ensure the safe, timely, and efficient operation of all machinery, equipment, buildings, and facilities at local facilities.

Uses developed specialized skills to complete a wide range of tasks and procedures with a limited degree of supervision. Takes a broad approach to problems. Acts as an informal resource for team members with less experience. Delivers work, which often impacts quality of team output to agreed timescales, service levels or similar metric.


Accountabilities

  • Manages maintenance programs and establishes processes to guarantee efficiency and safety.
  • Manages and schedules periodic preventive maintenance plans for the machinery of the facility and develops and manages facilities maintenance processes to achieve facilities efficiency.
  • Ensures that emergency maintenance and troubleshooting support are available
  • Manages and documents the inventory of machinery and equipment and guarantees the scheduling
  • Monitors the use of machinery and equipment of the installation by thirdparty locomotive contractors and Coordinates with KCSM Environmental, Maintenance of Way, Third Party Locomotive.
  • Understands the relevant business metrics and applies effective tactics to sustain a culture of operational effectiveness that produces teams of high performing, engaged and empowered operational leaders.
  • Identifies when a rule/regulation/policy has been violated and has oneonone accountability conversations with an individual who has not met expectations, using KCS Candor, Aligning the Stars & KCS ABC's, and have the individual produce better results.

Required

  • Tech Bachelor Degree (Industrial Engineering preferred) or equivalent
  • Minimum two (2) years of relevant operations experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Acumen in one or more disciplines of railroad operations

  • Office system knowledge
  • Personnel management
  • Medium command of English

Working Conditions

  • Shift work is an essential function of this job. Employees must have the ability and willingness to support critically important railroad operations 24 hours per day/7 days per week, working various shifts as assigned. Schedule assignments may include afterhours, weekends and holidays.
