At Wabtec Arteaga, you will be responsible for contributing to the Manufacture of high-quality locomotive and mining products and in a work environment where your safety is the most important priority.

As a Quality Engineer you will be responsible for maximizing the use of the assigned resources to collaborate with the company in compliance with the objectives of safety, quality and production programs in a complete "door-to-door" flow, from the receipt of materials raw materials, through the manufacturing processes, to final shipment and customer service, leading along with the others QTAs, Quality Inspectors and coaching quality interns.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Welders Qualification Co-Lead/Supervisor
  • Define procedure and establish responsibility for identifying, providing, and recording welder training and qualification.
  • Quality NPI Co-Lead (along with other QTAs): Ensure smooth production rampup and defectfree product, before, during and after a new product introduction process. Leading PPAP's and FAI's (First Article Inspections).


  • Quality Management System

  • ISO 9001:2015 Co-Lead (along with other QTAs)
  • Acting as a change agent leading towards a controlled operation ensuring quality procedures are followed. Guarantee the audit of the areas of responsibility for compliance with the plans, systems and quality requirements.
Compliance with the applicable internal procedures and instructions, eg:
Control and Monitoring of Measuring Equipment, handling of the non-conforming product. etc internal audits ISO9001:201
  • Co-Leader of
Quality Culture, (together with other QTAs)

  • Promoter of actions focused on the recognition of people to reinforce the culture of quality.
  • Co-Leader of

Customer Service:

Follow-up and resolution of quality problems, reports to the customer, verify the completion of all actions of engineering changes and documentation, help the customer to resolve doubts or problems and escalate needs and expectations.


  • Responsible for keeping the nonconforming product in waiting and quarantine areas of the assigned areas. Analyze product losses and maintain or redefine programs to meet objectives.
  • Supervise the metrology and production teams of the assigned areas. Ensure calibrated equipment available in operations.
  • Train operators and colleagues in quality related activities and provide guidance and direction to operators and quality inspectors.
  • Lead root cause analysis, preventivecorrective and improvement actions.
  • Prepare control plans, inspection, and test instructions.

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or any Engineering discipline.
  • At least 24 years of demonstrated working experience (Quality, Manufacturing or Engineering)
  • Solid knowledge of ISO9001/2015 or similar Quality Management Systems.
  • Aptitude for trouble shooting and problem solving.
  • Advanced English

Desirable qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge/expertise in Welding
  • Any proven record in Powder coating process training or certification is a plus.
  • Desirable Lean, Six Sigma, and statistical methodologies
  • MS Office and MRPs (Quality Module) is a plus.

  • Flexible for business travels and Drive within the country.
  • Good interpersonal and project management skills.
