Responsabilities

  • Team management: Propose the team vision and coordinate its implementation. Define relevant information for the team, support budget and outsourcing planning. Ensure that the team meets the performance objectives established by the General Director, Manager and Customers, such as yield (workload and work assignment included), quality, on time delivery, metrics. Maintains open communication with customers regarding team activities, performance and development status (training, headcount, issue resolution). Lead team in the development of 8Ds following the Basic Engineering Process. Familiarize the team with customer needs, specifications, design targets, the development process, design standards, techniques and tools to support task performance. Serve as a meeting manager or chairman. Initiate subgroups or subteams, as appropriate, to resolve issues and perform tasks in parallel. Ensure deliverables are prepared to satisfy the project requirements, cost and schedule. Help keep the team focused and on track.
  • Team development: Decide, in conjunction with management, on personnel profile definition and selection, define team members'roles and requirements. Assures that the team members have the necessary education, background and training to effectively participate in the team. Define, manage and coordinate the team training plan/execution/control. Participate in work environment improvements and in Team Building and Integration. Evaluate and monitor team performance, provide structured and continuous feedback, coach and help develop team members, help resolve dysfunctional behaviour. Recognize and celebrate team and team member accomplishments and exceptional performance
  • Technical Contribution: Acts as a problem preventer/solver, acting proactively in foreseeing possible issues and/or establishing contingency plans. Lead the execution of Engineering Services to meet Customer needs. Coordinate the review, presentation and release of technical work and other documentation. Coordinate meetings with the Simultaneous Development Team, project manager and functional management to discuss project impediments, resources needed or issues/delays in completing the task. Maintain continuous communication with the customer regarding team operations and performance.
  • Focal Point: Act as the representative of the team before company leadership, customers and administrative personnel.
  • Quality: Ensure that Quality of Deliverables, ISO, 6S and General Quality objectives are met. Promote a culture of quality (Quality measurement), the use of tools and continuous improvement. Provide the resources, processes and tools to project / action items' development. Own the corrective action closing process for the team.
  • Integrity & Compliance (Values): Be an integrity role model, a path to the quality/integrity policies and procedures. Execute actions indicated by the Compliance Review Board. Identify potential risks for the team regarding business policies and procedures and act accordingly.
  • Team logistics: Work with functional managers and leadership to obtain necessary resources and growth to support the team's requirements.
  • Communication: Provide status reporting of team activities against the program plan or schedule. Keep the project manager and product committee informed of task accomplishment, issues and status. Serve as a focal point to communicate and resolve interface and integration issues with other teams. Escalate issues that cannot be resolved by the team. Provide guidance to the team based on management direction.
  • Work Balance: It is expected that he/she performs both types of work, combining Technical and Leadership Activities as required while balancing a healthy work and personal life.
