Job Purpose Summary

The Manager, Quality Engineering is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality assurance processes to ensure the production of high-quality products.

This role involves managing a team of quality engineers, establishing quality control standards, and collaborating with various departments to drive continuous improvement in product quality and manufacturing processes.

The Manager, Quality Engineering will be expected to be onsite at our facility in Tijuana, Mexico, Monday-Friday (add hours).

What you will do

Lead, mentor, and manage a team of quality engineers and technicians, providing guidance and support in achieving quality objectives.
Develop and execute a comprehensive quality assurance strategy tailored to the manufacturing processes and products.
Leads root cause analysis, investigation activities and corrective action planning for quality issues to avoid reocurrence.
Collaborate with production, engineering, and other teams to implement best practices and enhance manufacturing processes.
Implement preventive measures to minimize defects and nonconformances in manufacturing processes.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and quality management systems (e.g., ISO, FDA, GMP).
Conduct regular audits and assessments to verify adherence to quality standards and procedures.
Writes, edits and approves investigation reports
Promote and champion activities and initiatives aimed at improving the organization's quality culture.

What you will need

Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent combination of certification and work experience
7+ years of experience in medical device manufacturing environment
3+ years of experience as a people manager
Must be able to speak fluent English and Spanish
Proficient in Microsoft Office, statistical software programs, operating systems, etc.
Experience in providing leadership to technical teams and the use of problemsolving methodologies such as DMAIC, Six-Sigma, etc.
High level of technical writing ability
Strong project management skills with an ability to work crossfunctionally
ASQ Quality Engineer/Manager Certification preferred
