Basic Function:

The Account Manager is the LYB main point of contact with our clients and market in general.

The Account Manager addresses the needs and requirements of customers to ensure their satisfaction, maintaining/increasing our business relationships, market share, and business profitability.

THIS POSITION IS TO BE LOCATED IN GUADALAJARA, MEXICO


Roles & Responsibilities:

General

Alignment to Sales Strategy:
Perform sales activities in the region, aligned with the Mexico sales strategy.

Example activities:

  • Address the needs and requirements of current customers to ensure their satisfaction.
  • Promote the LYB products and services to our customers and markets aligned with the Mexico sales strategy.
  • Propose and/or recommend products that meet customer requirements to ensure their performance and satisfaction.
  • Monitor/maintain the profitability of the businesses assigned to their responsibility.
  • Detect and develop new prospects and projects to increase the client portfolio.
  • Prepare quotes on time and assertively.
  • Establish commercial agreements with customers in the area to maintain and increase the portfolio.
  • Address and analyze customer complaints in the first instance, being a first element of response and solution to reported problems, and channeling to the corresponding area those that require a solution outside its scope.
  • Be attentive to the financial situation of its clients to avoid any risk of collection.
  • Review the credit status of the client portfolio under their responsibility, and support collection management if necessary.
  • Report customer situations that represent a potential risk for business continuity such as: changes of address without notice, sale of manufacturing equipment, mass layoffs, etc.
  • Communicate in a timely manner to the team about new products and/or needs detected with clients to grow the business.
  • Consider personal safety as a priority in any activity required in the position.
  • Other functions or responsibilities that may be assigned.

Market and business intelligence:


Proactively analyse trends and development in industry, business, products and competition, identify (projects) opportunities for LYB, feed marketing with the relevant data and insights, in order to contribute to the continuous improvement to the organization's ability to gain a competitive advantage in sales.


Example activities:

  • Built and maintain knowledge related to products, market trends, bestpractices in account management.
  • Monitor competition activity on the market and ensure appropriate response.
  • Collect figures and insights on industry developments and translate these for own area of expertise.
  • Share relevant customer/market information with product families as input for the formulation of their strategy.
  • Forecasting, monitoring, reporting:
Forecast, monitor, and track business performance in order to communicate to support areas and management.

Example activities:

  • Provide a monthly sales forecast to management.
  • Track and monitor customer consumptions throughout the entire commercial cycle.
  • Provide inputs to the Sales Manager with regards to customer initiatives and new projects (wins, losses).
  • Translate the estimated customers annual consumptions and our sales and product family strategies into a yearly sales plan for the assigned region.
  • Align plans according to customer and industry trends.
  • Report to management and on performance and projects.
  • Identify/anticipate customer problems, justify, and take appropriate corrective actions in case of deviation

Main Requirements:

Education

  • University degree in Chemical, Sales, Industrial or Materials Engineering (or any other relevant field), or equivalent through experience.
  • Work Experience
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in Plastics Industry, in commercial, service or technical areas.
  • Knowledge:
  • Extrusion and injection process
  • Polyethylenes, polypropylenes, polystyrenes focused on food and industrial packaging, agriculture and personal care markets.
  • Advanced Excel, SAP, Sales Force
  • Languages
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Any other additional language is considered a plus.
