    Position Purpose

    A versatile position within a dynamic nonprofit that provides . The position is full-time and is responsible for the logistics of the project(s), including materials and tool procurement, managing relations between All Hands and Hearts and local contractors and suppliers, monitoring effectiveness of tools and materials, liaising between field and office team, and facilitating coordination of volunteer teams.

    Start date is July 15, 2024

    Reporting Relationships

  • Reports to: Project Manager
  • Roles reporting to position: Assistant Logistics Coordinator (if applicable)
  • The approximate number of reports: 1 (if applicable)
  • Essential Functions

  • Work with the site teams and Project Manager to manage site logistics and relationships with local suppliers and local workers and assist with sourcing local contractors, suppliers and rental equipment.
  • Assist the Operations Manager with the procurement of medical and base supplies when necessary.
  • Assist the Operations Manager with daily cash counts and petty cash reconciliation.
  • In coordination with Operations Manager manage daily transportation and telecommunication for logistics, project teams, staff and volunteers and assist with the procurement of medical and base supplies.
  • In coordination with the project teams, organize regular tool and material inventories and tool repairs for all worksites. Procure construction supplies, tools, and materials for project sites
  • Maintain accurate tracking systems for purchased tools and materials for all sites
  • Facilitate ongoing communication and collaboration with Project Manager, Construction staff, Finance Coordinator and local suppliers
  • Participate in weekly meetings with Project Manager and site teams to plan and coordinate site logistics
  • Manage drivers' time, fuel, workload and feedback
  • Perform monthly vehicle maintenance
  • We have decided to relax the requirement for Covid-19 vaccination for on program staff. While we still strongly recommend Covid-19 vaccination, along with other standard and travel immunizations as recommended by the CDC and WHO, Covid-19 vacation will no longer be required.
  • Position Requirements

    Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

    Related Experience: 1+ year of experience working or volunteering for All Hands and Hearts, or another disaster relief organization. 1+ year managing logistics and/or working in a developing country.

    Special Competencies/Certifications: Must be fluent in Spanish and English. Must have a valid driver's license. Good written and oral communication skills (in English). Confident working with Google Workspace, particularly Google Docs and Google Sheets; and Microsoft Office. The individual needs to be well organized and have a flexible approach to managing multiple tasks and prioritizing them appropriately. The individual is able to manage a large workload and perform in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to secure and maintain appropriate visas.

  • Compensation & Benefits

  • Compensation Typical starting salary is $850 - $1,225 USD / month, and up to $1,600 for highly qualified candidates who have previous experience in this role.
