Context/Scope:

  • Diageo Mexico has a clear vision of being recognized as one of the top 3 CPG companies in the Off Trade Channel and the number 1 in the On Trade
  • Diageo has been consistently growing in the last 4 years and has ambitious growth goals for the next five years and beyond.
  • We have a solid position as market leader of the growing category of whisky. We want to strengthen our position in this category and increase our relevance crafting value in other categories, such as, liquors & creams, Tequila rum and vodka
  • To accurately take on these challenges we must become an execution machine, able to support current and future growth
  • The key success factor is to ensure excellence in execution at the point of sale, delivered by talented and fully capable teams who lead the in store operations and work steadfastly to achieve high standards of quality and efficiency

Purpose of Position:


Own and coordinate plans, tracking and administration of the activities related to Field Sales Operations, Be a liaison with different teams, such as Shopper Marketing, Brand Management, Finance, among others.

Coordinate outsource agency of merchandisers and promo corporate demos. Budget administration and operation.


Market / Function Complexity:
There is a new reality reflected in several indicators:
The trade continues with a solid expansion strategy in terms of stores The Spirits category is getting more relevance for our modern trade customers Diageo has launched new brands and new formats There are new and more sophisticated activities to implement at the point of sale

Since the category is growing in relevance for the retailers, the new battle ground is the point of sale. This implies that key competitors are also making efforts to win at the moment of choice, investing high in BTL activities to capture and captivate consumers


Strategical Accountability:

  • Plan and Communicate all the activities defined by Cycle Brief, JUCP and Commercial Negotiations (Customer Plans) that have to be implemented at the POS
  • Manage efficiently the resources provided for a brilliant execution: Merchandisers, POP Materials, Corporate Promogirls, Demogirls, Sampling, Reserve Assessors
  • Budget Control
  • Handle and keep updated the POS database and routes
  • PO administration and vendors payments control
  • Communication, tracking, validation and payment of Execution Incentives
  • Organization of Merchandisers annual conference

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Bachelors in BA (or similar)
  • Solid interpersonal skills and structured
  • Well organized with ability to work both independently and within team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 70% English Level

  • Sophisticated Level in Microsoft Office,
  • Entrylevel to 3 years of experience in Sales, Customer Account Management, or a related field. Food, Beverage, or CPG experience is helpful but not required.
  • Experience leading teams is a must.
  • Preferred sales experience in the alcoholic beverage industry with knowledge and passion for both commercial and premium products in a retail environment

Success Criteria:

  • UNDERSTAND THE COMMERCIAL OPPORTUNITY: Demonstrate a deep knowledge and understanding of customer and shopper needs to generate at POS insights to foster growth for Diageo and Customers
  • EXECUTE: Leads the execution process and Enables Operation teams with the accurate tools to increase POS execution to satisfy shopper needs
  • LEAD PERFORMANCE:
Works well within commercial team and related functions to deliver performance goals.

Acts as a personal mentor to grow 'High Potential' talent within the organization.-MEASURE AND EVALUATION: Interrogates wide ranges of data and information to advise sound business decision making.

Puts in place clear guidelines to ensure all information is timely and accurate in business.
