Job Summary:

Coordinate the development of new packaging materials, ensuring that they meet quality, cost and time specified by MKT.

Provide technical support to manufacturing for:

The improvement of existing products and processes, the solution of problems quality of packaging materials and innovation in packaging materials and technologies to generate advantages competitive differentiation and generation of savings.


Main Responsibilities:


  • Initial specifications: convert the aesthetic characteristics defined by MKT (Local Projects) or BIG regional and global projects into clear technical specifications.
  • Concept evaluation. Guarantee that the concept requested by MKT or BIG can be produced with the quality cost and time required.
  • Quality plan: define the master test plan that guarantees that new products meet the requirements of quality and functionality defined by colgate.
  • Selection of suppliers: support purchases in the selection, evaluation and development of reliable suppliers.
  • Designate suppliers when, due to the complexity of the material to be developed, a particular supplier is required.
  • Change management, evaluate, cost, communicate and document any requested change that affects the development time to technical information for new or existing products.
  • Technical information: guarantee that the technical information of the product generated during the development or the technical information on new or existing products.
  • First Production Run: supervising that the first production at an industrial level of all new products complies with specific quality requirements.
  • Technical Service: promote technical service to all areas of the company in problems related to packaging materials.
  • Comply with quality standards (product conformity, product design and marketing, technology transfer, process validation and control, corrective and preventive actions, control of changes, consumer complaints, storage and handling information, labeling and finished product, intercompany supply, supplier management, laboratory tests.

Education and Qualifications:


  • Degree in Industrial Design or Engineer.
years of experience in Packaging Engineering or similar

  • Plastic packaging (Mainly Injection Molding).
  • Metal Packaging and aerosols.
  • Printing and decoration techniques.
  • Project management.
  • Financial analysis of projects.
  • English Advanced.
  • Material test methods.
  • Experience in automation and systems.
  • Knowledge of aerosol propellants.
