Summary:


The Quality Operations Manager (QOM) is responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining, STANDARDIZING and measuring the effectiveness of the quality system (inspection systems, policies and procedures, measurement and testing, corrective actions, internal audits, etc.) that was established to ensure the preparation of the assembly and / or sub-assembly of products according to internal quality standards established by clients and / or applicable regulations.

The QOM will resolve quality-related issues at each site under his/her responsibility and have the authority to stop the process and manage product adjustments and / or changes according to customer specifications.

The QOM will also be responsible to develop and align the quality strategy with the regional business plan.


Responsibilities:


  • Manage and monitor the Operation Quality System in the plants. Ensuring that the necessary processes for the quality management system are established, implemented and maintained
  • Develop, align Regional Quality strategy with Business Plan and Global Quality Strategy


  • Voice of Customer

  • Drive improvement plans to Meet Customer Performance metrics (Customer Complaints, Customer Score Cards, etc.) by using the respective format and routine (RPS A3)
  • Develop capabilities within the Quality organization to allow high performance level in Partnership with HR
  • Ensure EOS (Operating system
  • Benchmarking by process) Compliance
  • Cost of Poor Quality
  • Drive improvement plans to improve YoY and meet the BBP Targets by using the respective format and routine (RPS A3)

  • Interface with the Customer on all Quality related issues
  • Act in line with Aptiv Values and Internal Control Procedures

Must Haves (Basic Qualifications):


  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 7+ years in Quality
  • Minimum 3+ years as Plant Quality Manager
  • Strong Leadership capabilities and the ability to influence others outside direct reporting structure
  • Experienced in presenting problems and solutions to executive leadership team
  • Fundamentals of supervision, decision making, solution of unexpected situations, knowledge and management of TS16949 & VDA
  • Certification IATF 16949 Auditor (Lead auditor preferred, minimum Internal Auditor).
  • Experienced with new line implementations, rampup, process changes on production lines
  • Knowledge of Automotive Quality Core Tools (APQP, FMEA, MSA, PPAP, SPC)
  • Six Sigma knowledge
  • 8D expertise
  • Statistical Knowledge
  • Availability to travel nationally and internationally on short notice
  • Demonstrated leadership, teamwork and communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced/dynamic environment: problem solving & decision making
  • Must be authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis

  • Master's Degree
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification
  • Experience in automotive industry
  • Multi plant supervision
