Summary

Brook Health is looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer, Backend to help us design, build and operate the API and infrastructure.

In this role, you will collaborate with the Product team as well as your Engineering and Design colleagues to drive the product forward every day.

You will be involved in all product development stages, and help to define, design, and build the product as we continue our accelerated growth.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Back-end developer, to take the step up to design a new, improved product from scratch, and help define and build new ways for people to manage pre-conditions and chronic disease.

• This role will be hired on a continual contract (No end date) based out of our MexiCali, Mexico office working for a US based Health Tech Company._

Key Responsibilities

• Communicate, engage and interact with the Board of Directions, Leadership Team, Executive Team and other departments as required.
• Design, program, and test software while collaborating with the rest of the engineering team
• Author and maintain relevant documentation for developers, Clients, and users to encourage innovation
• Develop and refine prototypes to confirm requirements
• Program according to project plans (versions, sprints)
• Test according to predetermined test plans
• Drive release and postrelease activities, such as support, versioning, and maintenance while continuing to hone in on your skills
• Collaborate with designers to create interfaces that conform to design guidelines
• Peer review other team members' code, and learn and adapt from peer review of your own code
• Develop high quality deliverables while evaluating innovative approaches to accomplish objectives
• Work in tandem with other engineers and the QA team on bug fixes
• Support building reusable code and libraries for future use

Required Qualifications

• Ability to work independently and crossfunctionally as an individual contributor
• Strong experience with Java
• Experience with PHP, AWS, MySQL
• 4 to 6 years of delivering software with preference given to those who have a degree in Computer Science/Engineering, or equivalent
• Strong understanding of software development design patterns and methodologies
• Proficient in at least one language or platform
• PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Docker,Git, Clientside JavaScript, and CSS frameworks and toolingProven working experience in software development
• Ability to take responsibility with testing and behavior driven development
• Excellent communications skills with the ability to share insights and expectations with the team, stakeholders and colleagues, both locally and remotely
