JOB DESCRIPTION:


Position Summary:


  • Responsible for supporting the assigned product launches at Plant level.
  • Lead Plant APQP activities on product launches and significant product changes.
  • Lead Safe Launch tracking and reporting for assigned product launches.
  • Main contact with Customer for Product & Process Changes implementation.
  • Support, as assigned, breakthrough Quality initiatives and participate on other special projects. Assist all functional areas and Acuna Plants with Advanced Quality Planning, problem resolution, prevention and mistake proofing.
  • Drive the development of Quality processes and tools to facilitate the daily activities of the QEs.
  • Develop team based on a career ladder
  • Responsible for managing and directing the activities involved in the Quality Assurance Manual & overall procedures employed in production/manufacturing processes.

Essential Functions:


  • Maintain PPAP and Project Quality documentation on CR's and Scorecards.
  • Control Plant Continues Improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor completion of Customer PPAP and Bendix IPA.
  • Lead process and product audits (VDA, ISO, QFMA, Customer, Etc.) as required.
  • For complex nonroutine issues, provide leadership in developing and implementing corrective actions.
  • Lead Customer visits for projects implementation.
  • Lead shop floor implementation team and insure all PDC launch activities are completed.
  • Work with PDC teams to ensure timely completion of APQP activities.

Management & Supervisory Responsibilities:


  • Project Quality Engineers report to this position.
  • Customer PPAP Coordinator report to this position
  • Coops or students may report to this position.
  • Reports to Quality Assurance Manager.

Knowledge:


  • Working knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO9001, and Advanced Product Quality Planning.
  • Measurement System Analysis (MSA) and SPC knowledge.
  • Strong Working Knowledge with Design/Process Failure Modes Effects Analysis(D/PFMEA), control plans, Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), statistical process control.
  • Knowledge of statistical and sixsigma methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Customer requirements for Trucks OEM (Paccar, Navistar, Volvo, DTNA, etc.), desired.

Experience:


  • Minimum 5 years of quality or Manufacturing experience in the automotive/truck industry with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) or Tier 1 supplier is required.
  • Minimum 5 years of New project launch experience with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) or Tier 1 supplier is required.

Education/Certifications:


  • BS/BSET degree required in Manufacturing, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Working knowledge of Automotive/Trucking Industry Quality requirements and standards a plus.
  • Must be fluent in English & Spanish.
  • Six Sigma Black or Green Belt certified a plus.
