- Responsible for gaining a deep understanding of the business, encompassing both operational and commercial dimensions, to conduct analytical tasks and provide recommendations to Sales and Plant General Managers regarding commercial and operational strategies for the designated location(s).
- May also handle a limited number of accounts. Once proficient in industry knowledge and business segment understanding, sales associates are expected to assume full territory management responsibilities. This includes expanding target accounts and identifying new prospects in the local market.
- Tasked with preparing and conducting sales calls, as well as securing orders for products or services. Work is typically performed outside the primary place of business, necessitating overnight travel to plants, trade shows, training sessions, and customer sites.
- Achieve sales targets with assigned accounts by collaborating with customers in a consultative manner that optimizes value for the customer and profitability for International Paper.
- Acquire new business and enhance the assigned territory by exploring sales opportunities, capturing the interest of potential clients, networking to expand contacts, and following up on leads.
- Leverage International Paper's value proposition to promote a profitable assortment of corrugated products to targeted customers.
- Develop a proficient understanding of the corrugated box sector and business operations.
- Stay updated on new product releases and sales methodologies continuously.
- Attain a comprehensive technical understanding of all business products relevant to your market or territory.
- Adhere to all company policies and cultivate a positive, secure work environment for colleagues and customers.
- BA/BS degree with a focus on Professional Sales or related field preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
