The M365 Places Ecosystem Team is at the forefront of revolutionizing how organizations manage and leverage their physical spaces.

Our mission is to develop a cutting-edge data platform that facilitates the ingestion, processing, and storage of diverse data sets related to customer places.

This includes but is not limited to office spaces, meeting rooms, access badge systems, WiFi networks, and people dynamics within these environments.

As a Data Platform Engineer within the M365 Places Ecosystem Team, you will play a pivotal role in building and maintaining a robust infrastructure that underpins our data platform.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable solutions, implement data processing pipelines, and ensure data integrity and security throughout the system.

Responsibilities:

Supports collaboration with appropriate stakeholders and records and documents data requirements.
Contributes the appropriate data model for the project and drafts design specification documents to model the flow and storage of data for specific parts of a data pipeline.
Independently implements basic code to extract raw data from identified upstream sources using common query languages or standard tools, and contributes to checks that support data accuracy, validity, and reliability across a data pipeline component.
Applies standard modification techniques and operations (e.g., inserting, aggregating, joining) to transform raw data into a form that is compatible with downstream data sources, databases, and formats.
Designs and maintains assigned data tools used to transform, manage, and access data.
Follows data modeling and data handling procedures to maintain compliance with applicable laws and policies across assigned workstreams.

Qualifications:

Required/Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 2+ years of experience in business analytics, data science, software development, data modeling or data engineering work
OR Master's degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field AND 1+ year(s) experience in business analytics, data science, software development, or data engineering work
OR equivalent experience.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications**- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 5+ years of experience in business analytics, data science, software development, data modeling or data engineering work

OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years of business analytics, data science, software development, data modeling or data engineering work experience
OR equivalent experience.
