Leading a team of RDQ professionals in product development, you identify and prioritize development activities.

You lead teams that deliver RDQ activities needed to complete new product development, and that maintain portfolios and/or productivity projects, keeping in mind the goal to create the desired consumer experience.


How you will contribute


You will work with a cross-functional partner to define, initiate and lead teams to successfully deliver business goals using technical rigor and best practices while effectively allocating resources and prioritizing workloads.

Influencing skills are important in this role because you will use them to educate business stakeholders about technical risks, ensuring clear communication and understanding to allow for effective cross-functional decision making.

You will also create and maintain accurate consumer-led specifications.

As a technical and people leaders, you demonstrate your own high levels of technical rigor and expertise and that of your team by tapping into internal and external resources to stay up-to-date on the latest best practices and to continuously identify opportunities for improvement, keeping in mind consumers' wants and needs.

As a people leader, you recruit, retain and develop a team of direct and indirect reports to ensure highest team performance, and mentor and coach your team and others to grow capability and support career development.

Accountabilities
Build global innovation pipeline for global gum category


Responsibilities include:

  • Bring creative thinking to platform development team to enable the discovery of new connections inspired by observation of consumers and close tracking of trends and technical insights. Probe several sources for inspiration, looking beyond the obvious.
  • Partner closely with consumer science, process and packaging teams to ideate and bring to life consumerled product solutions by means of rapid prototyping through to scaleup feasibility. Use agile methods and the appropriate level of technical rigor to solve problems.
  • Lead a team of developers p roviding technical leadership on cross functional project teams; collaboratively develop technical learning plan and timeline for each project, while understanding our function's relationship to others in the business.
  • Participate in tech center communities to drive R&D culture and engagement.

Qualifications & Requisite skills include

:


  • B.S., M.S. or Ph.
D. in Food Science, Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering or equivalent

  • 710 years of experience in a Product Development or technical R&D role
  • Willing to travel up to 20% both domestically and internationally
  • Experience working with confectionery formulas & ingredients (desired, will train)
  • Creative mindset and ability to see problems through a consumer lens
  • Strong communication skills; ability to influence decision makers, build relationships and drive to results
  • Strong project planning & management skills
  • Ability to synthesize data from a variety of sources to solve complex problems
  • Previous experiences as People Manager.
