_What Production Operation contributes to Cardinal Health_


Manufacturing is responsible for cost of production and maintenance activities including process improvement, supply chain management, quality assurance, employee safety and engagement, and environmental commitment.

Production Operation operates light-duty bench
- or floor-type machine tools and automation equipment. May set up machining machines and make adjustments, and perform maintenance on machines. Checks work using prescribed gauges, jigs and fixtures to measure close tolerances. Some machines may be numerically controlled. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.


_Job Summary_
The Manager, Production Operation manages/coordinates teams and processes across multiple manufacturing areas in a temperature controlled FDA regulated facility.

This job plans and prepares manufacturing production schedules and departmental workflows to establish sequence and lead time of each production operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders.

The Manager, Production Operation ensures safe and compliant operations in assigned area and addresses quality issues as needed. This job has full management responsibility including hiring, firing and assessing the performance of team members.


_Responsibilities_

  • Leads, directs, and controls the daytoday activities of a single production line or multiple production lines to achieve the short and mediumterm production objectives.
  • Plans, manages and reviews production operations to achieve output and quality objectives; undertaking production activities to transform tangible inputs (e.g., raw materials or semifinished goods) or intangible inputs (e.g., ideas, information, know how) into finished products or services.
  • Develops and implements production schedules to ensure the effective use of labor, tools, plant and equipment.
  • Ensures that the production instructions and operations are meeting quality SOP's and orders are completely accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Audits, monitors, and determines the quality of processes or outputs, either against defined internal or regulatory standards and reports/ responds to process deviations and defects.
  • Hires, leads, directs, evaluates, and develops team members to ensure the production team meets it's established targets and standards.

Qualifications_**- 8-12 years of experience

  • BA, BS or equivalent experience in related field. Advance Degree preferred
