***- Conduct Finite Element analysis and other computer aided analysis to solve technical challenges of hoses, wires, tubes pipes and brackets components and systems.

  • Operate meshing software to characterize and build FEA models to perform structural analyses.
  • Perform linear and nonlinear static, Linear dynamic, Durability analyses in flexible and rigid components.
  • Perform detailed CAE analyses to verify the vehicle attribute targets, through a consistent CAE Plan based on analytical Design Verification Methods (DVM) and linked to SDS/ARL (System Design Specifications/Attribute Requirement Lists).
  • Create CAE Engineering status reports and verify completeness and correctness of CAE Assessments.
  • Interact with multicultural design teams (D&R (Design & Release), CAD (Computer Assisted Design), Core and VE (Vehicle Engineering)) to achieve the project scope, technical deliverables, timeline, validation plan, cost targets and documentation.
  • Offer feasible engineering solutions to design problems based on CAE and test results by running DOE CAE studies.
  • Use CAE methods to guide new designs collaborating with CAD, D&R, Core and suppliers.
  • Support new programs and Cost reduction initiatives through CAE methods.
  • Collaborate with physical testing engineers as well as other CAE engineers to develop and improve CAE methods needed to achieve high confidential rate between physical and virtual analysis.
  • Optimize process and designs using Optimization software to provide the best design.
  • Support automation process by scripting and programing routings improving and creating CAE process.

Skills required for the position:


  • Engineering degree (Mechanical, Mechatronic, Aeronautical desirable) or related disciplines with coursework in Finite Element Methods and Physics. MS degree preferred.
  • Work experience in the area of FEA/CAE/CAD with the Automotive Industry preferred, but not required.
  • Strong knowledge in static and dynamic failures on metal, thermoplastic and thermoset materials.
  • Chassis systems knowledge (Brake lines, Frames, subframes, suspensions, brakes system), preferred.
  • Engineering Knowledge of structural linear and nonlinear analysis, Dynamic analyses in metal and flexible parts is required.
  • Experience in ANSA, Hyperworks, IPS, Abaqus, NASTRAN, Ansys and/or other commercially available software and FEA program.
  • Multioptimization tools knowledge as modeFrontier or Heeds desirable.
  • UNIX fundaments is preferred but not required.
  • Good background in 3D CAD modeling in CATIA or NX, Teamcenter desirable.
  • DMAIC/DFSS/Robustness Tools working experience desirable.
  • Familiar with manufacturing processes, technologies and measures emphasis on failure analysis.
  • Programing skills, Lua, Python, Java desired.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated initiative, drive, project management, and ownership skills.
  • English proficiency.
  • Recent Graduate or +1 yoe in Mechanic Engineer or similar.
  • Written & oral communication flow skills.
  • Microsoft Office management (Word, Excel and Power Point).
  • Able to work in a Team environment and can handle pressure.
