Digitalhype is looking for a REMOTE QA


The QA Tester Lead needs to be able to design, implement, and follow quality assurance plans to ensure the quality of software or products.

He/she needs to know how to analyze and design test cases based on requirements as well as validate the implementation of the changes and execute and document the test cases.

The reporting of the results of the execution and issues found during the testing is a must, demonstrating the test coverage percentage.

Defect management is critical, so he/she needs to track the issues till their closure or correct disposition.


The identification of risks, and determining their severity and likelihood is critical to provide good solutions and support to projects.


This position is expected to collaborate with team members in or outside the QA team, validating testing consistency by manual solutions.

Support is required at all phases of testing QA, UAT, and/or Production.


Job Duties:


Ensure Quality Assurance.

  • Design and implement test plans and strategies to ensure the quality of the software or product.
  • Participate in any meeting with stakeholders to understand the data requirements.
  • Analyze and Design test cases based on the requirements.
  • Execute the test cases even manually or automated fashion.
  • Document the results of the test cases and report any issues.
  • Confirm the fix for any issue reported in QA, UAT, or Prod environment.
  • Support different teams with any QA validations to ensure the software quality.
  • Ensure the satisfaction of nonfunctional requirements.
  • Prescribing recommendations to improve the quality of the software or product.

Development of test plans and strategies.
Identify the objective, scope, and approach of the testing.

Implement monitoring, logging, and audit mechanisms for the testing.

Identify assumptions, constraints, schedules, and pass/fail criteria.

  • Keep up to date on evolving technology frameworks, tools, patterns, and methodologies.
  • Identify test deliverables, responsibilities, and risks.
  • Identify tools to be used, standards, metrics, entry and exit criteria, and environments during testing.

Operations and maintenance.

  • Understand and report the status and progress of the testing.
  • Keep track of the defects over their lifecycle.
  • Upgrade test libraries and dependencies.
  • Ensure the protection of confidential data and compliance with all legal and regulatory guidelines.

Other duties may be assigned.

Competencies:


Education and Experience.

Required:

  • Bachelors in computer science, engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years relevant experience.
  • Bilingual English & Spanish.

Certifications.

Preferred:

  • ISTQB.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities.

Required:

  • Ability to communicate with users or business users to define key features or risks.
  • Ability to conduct quality assessments on a project.
  • Ability to live demo the success of testing to the business or stakeholders.
  • Reports and Project status and solutions in case of issues or constraints.
  • Manage team capacity and conflict resolutions.
  • Able to perform risk management.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, problemsolving, and analytical skills.
  • Coordinates and/or participates in revisions, inspections, and walkthroughs.
  • Collect and report test metrics.
  • Understand the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Understand the Waterfall, Agile, and/or Safe methodology.
  • Project management tools (Jira or similar).
  • Test management tools (Zephyr, Qtest, TestRail, or similar).
  • Ability to use a test matrix and follow its traceability.
  • Ability to perform test estimation based on the requirements.
  • Ability to tailor or adapt existing testing methodology and practices to the needs of a specific project.
  • Support test teams with training and/or mentoring and communicate all related to the quality assurance process and culture.

  • Willing to learn new technologies and processes.
  • Ability to improve testing processes.
  • Testing Process Experience (Planning; Monitoring and Control; Analysis; Design; Implementation; Execution (Cycle Effort); Completion).
  • Test Levels (Component testing, Integration testing, System testing, Acceptance testing).
  • Test Types (Functional testing, Nonfunctional testing, Confirmation testing, Regression testing).
  • Understand the defect life cycle reported, open, fix, fix validation, reopen, closed, rejected) handson.
  • Knowledge of SQL to query data.
  • Data and integration validation.
  • Understand the life insurance terms and flow to process a policy, claims, and all actors in a policy.
  • Ability to manage ambiguous objectives with poorly defined constraints.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including with nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail.
