We are looking to hire a Regional Head of Customs North America to join our team at Toluca this position will support operations across America ́s facilities, Customs Compliance, custom ́s cost optimization, (3 Mexican facilities, 2 at the USA and 1 Canada)

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a comprehensive longterm customs strategy aligned with the global objectives
Lead and manage customs global team to Identify opportunities for continuos improvement and operational excellence in customs management and customs shared services
Identify and implement costsaving initiatives, identify opportunities to minimize customs costs and fees including negotiating tariff prefe
Ensure compliance with all applicable national and international customs laws, regulations, and trade agreements
Monitor changes in customs regulations and adjust company policies accordingly
Oversee the customs documentation process, including preparation and monitoring of customs declarations and documents
Ensure correct classification and tariffing of goods in accordance with aplicable tariff codes Identify and mitigate risks related to customs matters
Prepare the company for customs audits and inspections Collaborate closely with customs agents and authorities to ensure smooth import and export transactions
Ensure the efficient and timely delivery of customs services to internal clients
Collaborate closely with other departments to understand their customsrelated needs and expectations
Communicate best practices and recommendations to internal stakeholders
Responsible for budget planning and cost control related to customs operations

Requirements:

At least minimum 5 years of professional experience in a comparable position or in consulting
Extensive experience in customs management, including leadership roles
Deep knowledge of national and international customs laws, regulations, and trade agreements.
Strong negotiation skills and the ability to minimize customs costs effectively
Distinct analytical thinking and judgement as well as a high degree of result orientation
Excellent communication, tea development, and stakeholder management skills
Must have experience leading a team
Deep knowledge of Canada and USA customs laws, regulations and trade agreements.
