JOB PURPOSE:


To manage the accurate and timely recording, reporting, and analysis of all business information for the facilities or areas assigned, managing the efforts of the team, and innovating and improving the processes in place to make the work more efficient.


JOB DUTIES MAY INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:


  • Work with selected financial systems, interpreting and adhering to Caterpillar's general accounting practices and procedures.
  • Manage a CAT and Third-Party team, and their related workload, prioritizing projects, assigning and reviewing work, and controlling the daily operating environment.
  • Evaluate and report on staff performance, participate in employee selections, provide career guidance and training direction, comply with personnel practices, and promote team rewards and successes.
  • Provides technical guidance and expertise to team.
  • Motivate team members to work towards individual and team goals and objectives, fostering an environment of teamwork and cooperation.
  • Communicate effectively within the team and with internal and external customers and data providers.
  • Understand and manage customer requirements and expectations. Serve as liaison between customer, team, and data providers.
  • Identify and communicate goals and objectives of team.
  • Provide services, make recommendations, and manage costs.
  • Provide technical guidance and expertise on highly complex accounting issues such as preparing financial results analysis for upperlevel management, providing forecast data, etc.
  • Lead initiatives outside team to represent the group, (e.g., documenting processes, making presentations).
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of Caterpillar's businesses, products, suppliers and customers.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • 45 year Degree in Accounting or equivalent.
  • Fluent English
  • Must demonstrate initiative, leadership, good judgment and superior communication skills. Strong analytical, decision making, problem solving, and human relations skills also are necessary.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Professional Certification (Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or equivalent)
  • 5 to 7 years of Accounting experience.
  • Accounting experience at a large public accounting firm or a Fortune 500 company.
  • MBA or Master's Degree in Accounting (or equivalent)
