Client:

Our client is a cybersecurity company that offers various services (such as penetration testing, monitoring, security assessments, etc.) and operates worldwide.

They have recently acquired various other companies and are in the process of unifying tools and processes among their recently bought business units.


Position overview:

A key role of the Senior DevOps Engineer will be to advise on the processes and tools that will be used.

For the purposes of understanding they are considering or using today:

AWS, GCP, Ansible, Ubuntu, Git, Jenkins, Gradle, Maven, Helm, Boto3, Tomcat, Docker, Kubernetes, Kustomize, ArgoCD, Bitbucket Pipelines, Packer, CloudFormation, Terraform, Vagrant, SonarQube and Nexus.


Technology stack:
AWS services, microservices, and integrations with various other tools/services.

  • Responsibilities: Design and implement build, deployment, and configuration management
  • Test and improve implemented designs
  • Build and test automation tools for infrastructure provisioning
  • Handle infrastructure & code deployments in all environments
  • Monitor metrics and develop ways to improve in terms of performance and cost
  • Brainstorm for new ideas and ways to improve development delivery
  • Build, maintain, and monitor configuration standards
  • Manage CI and CD tools
  • Document and design processes; update existing processes
  • Work with InfoSec to harden production platforms
  • Requirements: Experience with cloud deployment environments such as AWS esp Cloudformation, S3, EC2, VPC (familiarity with MSK useful)
  • Experience with Elastic Search and/or OpenSearch Administration, architecting a highly resilient infrastructure and deep dive knowledge to handle enterprise Production support
  • Experience with Grafana and Loki management
  • Good working knowledge of source control (Git, Bitbucket)
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to use a wide variety of opensource technologies
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments
  • Good spoken English
  • Nice to have: Experience with GitOps tooling (FluxCD, ArgoCD, JenkinsX)
  • Experience with Github Actions
