Contract Analyst, MBC

**Job Description: Johnson Controls is a global leader in the development, manufacture and sale of a wide range of building technologies and solutions, including building management systems, access, video and intrusion security systems, fire detection and suppression systems, air systems, refrigeration and HVAC controls and equipment. The Contract Analyst will work in close collaboration with the commercial transactions legal team to support the delivery of legal services to internal clients in the United States and Canada. The Contract Analyst will assist and support (i) the Legal Contract Managers on the review, drafting and negotiation of agreements, including sales, service, framework agreements, and construction contracts, (ii) perform contract management tasks in support of the contract lifecycle management project and (iii) assist with updating forms, tools, and processes.


The Contract Analyst must be forward-looking with a "can do" orientation and willing to develop a deep understanding of the businesses they support.

They must demonstrate innovative thinking, work independently and proactively, and function as a trusted advisor to the attorneys and business team members they support.


Primary Duties:


  • Support contract lifecycle management project by reviewing and identifying key contract terms and creating contract summaries
  • Support on diverse projects within the commercial transactions legal team, as assigned.
  • Assist and support the review, drafting and negotiation of agreements, including sales, service, framework agreements, and construction contracts in accordance with the company's policies.
  • Manage the contract review workflow tool.
  • Perform research and analysis for decisionmaking and present synopsis.
  • Must be fluent in English, verbal and written. Must have good working knowledge of legal terminology in English.
  • Law degree and minimum of 3 years of experience in the review and negotiation of English language contracts, whether as part of a law firm or corporate law department.
  • Effective oral and written communication and organization skills.
  • Processdriven, detail oriented, selfmotivated, and analytical.
  • Selfstarter with good problemsolving and attention to detail skills and a client service focus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of products, with specific experience in Word, Power Point, Excel and database creation and maintenance.
