We seek an experienced data engineer/analyst to support end-to-end data analytics projects for the BID Digital Marketing Analytics Team.

This engineer/analyst knows the entire data analytics life cycle very well, from the business and data understanding to the deployment, communication, and documentation of the reports.

Still, deep analysis and curation of the full story are exciting and allow you to turn a complex analysis into a digestible and actionable story.


You enjoy diving into the data, questioning results, addressing issues, enhancing, curating, and being creative with data in your daily work.

However, you are also strategic-minded and offer suggestions and well-thought plans to enhance reporting and self-serve capabilities for the analytics team in the long term.

Being astute at simplifying the sophisticated is a vital skill in this role.

You should also have outstanding communication skills and be able to effectively communicate sophisticated processes and issues to other data engineers, analysts, and business partners.


You will spend most of your time discovering ways to integrate new data sources and striving to assist the team in efficiently accessing cleansed and consistent data.

You will be dealing with all kinds of data sources including commercial, operational, financial, and digital marketing data from a variety of systems and tools, including but not limited to Adobe Analytics, AWS Redshift, AWS Athena, MS SQL Server, IBM Cognos, Google BigQuery, PBI Service, MS Azure, Databricks, Etc., and your data sets will be diverse, (structured, semi-structured, unstructured), and at times complex.

Still, your unique viewpoints, experience, and teammates will keep you grounded and help you navigate. You will be responsible for the QA check of the data/reports, ensuring alignment comparisons and data audits when necessary.

Curiosity, critical-thinking, and persistence are key.

Self-assessment, a continual growth mindset, striving for efficient, quality work, and willingness to continually improve your knowledge of new technologies (data tools and programming languages) is required, as the analytics field constantly changes.

You also enjoy sharing your knowledge via brainstorming, mentoring, guidance, and documentation of standard processes from the analytics perspectives.


A Day in the Life:


  • Leverage data integrations using AWS Athena, Redshift, Cognos, SharePoint, and Power BI Services, among other technologies
  • Propose development optimizations and implement to deliver solutions and enhanced reporting capabilities
  • Provide timely and consistent updates and recommendations on dataflow and data pipeline operational issues and enhancements to team and partners
  • Become a domain expert on data sources used by the Analytics team (SalesForce, Adobe Analytics, Redshift, internal databases, etc.), along with reports created
  • Consult data source owners to understand and document data collection and reporting processes
  • Growing understanding of business context/impact of data used
  • Champion data quality and integrity through proactive sleuthing and oversight
  • Establish alerts for data connection issues, both technical and beyond expected thresholds (anomalies)
  • Technical guidance and questioning of requests to prioritize and optimize the most useful data visualizations
  • Collaborate and cultivate relationships with business partners to continue strengthening our team's profile
  • Research, documentation, and communication of standard methodologies, updates, developments, etc.
  • Influence and maintain a strong and healthy team culture through active involvement, inclusion, and leadership
  • Brainstorm strategic and forwardthinking initiatives (e.g. roadmap, team process/structure, philosophy)
  • Proactive selfeducation and contribution to advance our analytics practices, methods, and strategy

Keys to Success:


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (or above) in a pure science or engineering
  • 3+ years experience in a data analytics or engineering role with a solid understanding of technical, business, and operational process
  • 3+ years experience with Power BI Desktop and Service (or similar business intelligence and data visualization tool)
  • Intermediate DAX, M, Python, and SQL
  • Exposure to data engineering and analytics with Python
