The Controller is responsible for overseeing the accounting and accounts

payable teams; ensuring that the financial statements are accurate and there is a strong

internal control environment.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

Oversees the accounting operations, including the maintenance of accounting

principles, practices and procedures; ensures all accounting policies follow US Generally

Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and appropriately maintained.

Leads and provides development to the accounting team in providing excellent support

to the residents and team members.

Manages the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an

accurate accounting of consolidated business results.

Responsible for the research and implementation of new accounting literature and
Evaluates and maintains a strong internal control environment.
Oversees IRS and tax reporting; including but not limited to the Form 990, Form 1120,

state income tax filings and Form 1099 preparation and submission.

Oversees all cost report preparation, filing and audits.
Participates in several special projects; ensures accounting for system implementations

are appropriate.

Comply with applicable federal, state and local laws, rules, and regulations; maintains

knowledge of and follows all company policies and procedures.

Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and meetings.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
Ten years handson accounting managerial experience.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or Master's

are preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Strong knowledge of US GAAP.
Experience leading a team required; must have excellent employee relation skills and

discernment.

Must be selfmotivated and work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a

team.

Ability to administer confidential information in an appropriate matter.
Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
Ability to read, write and speak English.
