Job Description (Roles and Responsibilities)This position is open only to residents of Monterrey or those living within commuting distance of the British Consulate, Monterrey.

The UK is also the world's sixth largest exporter and the second largest services exporter.We are currently hiring an intern at the British Consulate in Monterrey, Mexico, to assist officers (commercial) within the Department of Business and Trade
Roles and responsibilities:
- Carry out Market Research, Verification of Contacts and Public Relations work
- Support in the organisation of of trade events, trade missions and visit programmes.
- Periodically followup with commercial engagements
- Prepare the preliminary work linked to commercial opportunities for the team to continue in the medium to long term
- Log interactions on our internal system to leave registry
- Interaction with local companies and UK companies
- Provide support in the organisation for other activities such as trade events and visit programmes.
Essential on arrival:
- Ability to do market research and create professional industry reports with correct grammar and use of the English or Spanish.
- Understanding of Commercial Topics such as Trade and Investment
- Excellent computer skills, particularly MS Outlook and MS Office packages.
- Should be a proactive and creative selfstarter with strong interpersonal skills who has the ability to learn quickly.
- Must be willing to work in a constantly changing multicultural environment.

Level of language required: 600 TOEFL points.

Fluent / native speaker.
Desirable qualifications, skills and experience
Desirable:
- Currently studying careers related to International Relations, International Business, Communications, etc.
- Use of online and offline tools to gather quality information (i.e. INEGI, World Bank, etc.)

Other benefits and conditions of employment
Working patterns:
Monday - Friday (4-5 hours per day/25 hours per week)
Hybrid format with at a minimum of 3 days of work in the office.
The jobholder should have the ability to support with events outside the office (desirable but not required).
