Comprador MRO Sr. Adv - Mexicali, México - emerson

In this position, your main tasks will involve:

• Identifying and acquiring MRO materials such as spare parts, tools, consumables (like lubricants), office supplies, safety equipment, and other necessary items for maintenance, repairs, and daily operations.
• Requesting quotations (RFQs): Sending out requests for quotations to potential suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and product details.
• Evaluating and choosing suppliers: Assessing supplier offers based on factors such as cost, quality, delivery time, reliability, and warranty terms. Selecting the most suitable supplier for each MRO need.
• Negotiating favorable terms with suppliers on pricing, payment schedules, and delivery conditions to ensure efficiency and timely deliveries.
• Issuing POs to chosen suppliers for the required MRO materials.
• Keeping track of inventory levels: Regularly monitoring stock levels to predict shortages or excess stock and taking necessary actions.
• Identifying cost-saving possibilities: Continuously searching for ways to reduce procurement expenses through tactics like negotiating better prices or optimizing inventory management.
• Maintaining accurate records of MRO purchases and inventory levels.
• Collaborating with internal teams (maintenance and production) to understand their needs.

For this Position, You Should Have:

A blend of expertise in procurement, inventory management, supplier relationships, and knowledge of metalworking requirements.

• Understanding of the procurement process, from RFQs to placing orders.
• Knowledge of inventory control principles for efficient stock management.
• Familiarity with various MRO materials in a metalworking setting.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with teams and suppliers.
• Collaborative skills to work with internal teams and align on procurement goals.
• Ability to tackle procurement challenges effectively.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Experience with MRP systems, preferably Oracle.
• Finding cost-saving opportunities in procurement.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing procurement role.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Knowledge of MRP systems and Lean Manufacturing.
• Fluency in English and Spanish.
