Job description:

Technical position in Purchasing organization responsible for bringing savings to the Business
Generate, evaluate and implement cost reduction ideas for launches (VE) and postSOP (VA)
Total Product Cost reduction through design changes, process changes, packaging/logistics changes, resourcing activities

Job duties:

Generate cost savings ideas through various activities: e.g supplier/in house workshops, benchmarking activities
Assess ideas feasibility with Xfunctional team from a technical and financial prospective on a global basis, prepare presentation to support Business decision and get Management approval
Track closely the detailed status of ideas implementation (test release, supplier PPAP, customer release), resolve issues to keep timing on track and escalate on a timely manner roadblock that cannot be solved at the project team level
Generate reports to Management varying from direct manager to Senior VP
Monitor closely savings forecast towards target and propose reaction plan if gap exists. Ability to see and react to "long term goals"
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering
Strong personal and communication skills, with ability to deal with various stakeholders (Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Sales, suppliers, )
Good English skills required in international environment (EU, AP, NA)
Global thinking, solid organizational skills including attention to details
Ideally technical background with business acumen
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Experience with suppliers and/or customers is appreciated
Project Management skills are appreciated
Results oriented
Minimum 23 years experience ideally
