ROLE SUMMARY:


  • With more than 1,800 students, The American Institute of Monterrey (AIM), an Inspired school, currently has 3 campuses in Monterrey's metropolitan area: 2 campuses in San Pedro and 1 campus in Santa Catarina.
  • Valle Oriente Campus provides full services from Prenursery through 9th grade.
  • San Pedro Campus provides services from Prenursery through 5th grade.
  • AIM Preparatory School offers 6th through 12th grades.
  • The AIM has become a successful institution by aiming for excellence permanently since its foundation in 1968. For more than 50 years, AIM has been one of the most renowned privatebilingual schools in Mexico, assuring a quality prenursery through 9th grade education in an international context, while on 2017 the High School program (10th. through 12th. grades) was launched. The AIM is globally recognized for its high academic standing, its educational innovations, its updated technological resources, its values and leadership programs, as well as for the high performance of our students in sports.
  • Our spiral and transdisciplinary curriculum, coupled with a healthy degree of student choice and accountability, pursues that our students develop and attain mastery of the 21st century skills through the development of Authentic Products and Services that have a positive impact in their community. This Authentic Products and Services are developed during students' specialized Academy classes in Engineering and Technology, Laboratory and Research, Business and Management as well as Arts and Humanities.

The key purpose of this position is to foster high academic achievement aware of the demands of teaching in an international student body.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Effectively uses institutional and technological resources in order to offer multiple learning alternatives and experiences than involve all senses; fostering students to explore, research, experiment and develop talents and abilities as critical thinking, metacognition and life learning.
  • Uses different evaluation tools where students can demonstrate different learning forms. Offers timely and meaningful feedback and guides students in the learning process and better performance. Uses information from evaluations to develop more learning experiences.
  • Creates environments where all students feel secure, accepted and valued. Seeks maximum growth of each student in order for them to succeed, and maintains a climate of respect and empathy among students.
  • Works collaboratively with peers, support team and parents, making parents feel part of a team and demonstrating genuine interest for their child wellbeing. Maintains effective communication with parents according to the student needs.
  • Is responsible and aims for excellence in the teaching practice through commitment with growth and student wellbeing, as well as with its own personal and professional growth.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:


  • Sound Primary English teacher qualifications (BA and/ or MBA).
- - five-year Primary teaching experience in private schools.

  • IT skills.
  • A childcentered approach.
  • Good communication, professional, hardworking and wellprepared teacher that inspires confidence in students and parents.
  • Commitment to allround ethos of AIM, including its cocurricular activities and an aim for excellence approach.
