Job Summary:


Principal Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Set appropriate EHS procedures and standards that assure customer expectations and safety requirements compliance, preventing business risks.
  • Provide the Global Technology Center (GTeD) team a sense of belonging to a group that is conscious within a safety culture.
  • Identify critical EHS risks in different levels and scopes, develop an effective strategy to implement stronger controls to prevent serious incidents and fatalities.
  • Develop, implement and communicate a clear strategic vision for EHS to improve employee focus and develop a competitive advantage in the products industry.
  • Plan, develop, and coordinate the EHS annual program ensuring alignment with the company objectives and strategy.
  • Ensure the implementation and compliance of EHS procedures, standards and applicable local regulations in the GTC.
  • Establish strong working relationships with key customers and leaders (external and internal) to achieve EHS standards accountability with a focus on customer service.
  • Coordinate roles and responsibilities of people involved in the achievement of EHS goals and Key Performance Indicators.
  • Supervise the rules and safety procedures, inspect tools and equipment before use, report unsafe acts, unsafe conditions and accidents that occur.
  • Coordinate and follow up the EHS selfassessments of the GTeD.
  • Ensure the compliance of the Minimum Safe Behaviors (MSB) standard for temporary & permanent employees, contractors and visitors.
  • Maintain good and safe conditions regarding equipment and its operation.
  • Build a safe environment, recognize and reward safety activities and good safety performance.
  • Measure safety performance and measure people's accountability for safety and results.
  • Ensure that incidents are investigated to resolve root cause, and establish the corrective actions to be taken.
  • Promote EHS culture within GTeD people.
  • Prepare an annual budget & investment budget for the appropriate implementation of the EHS program
  • Establish connections with the EHS LATAM division in order to align requirements, strategies and priorities.

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Industrial Engineering, Chemistry/Safety or related
  • Proven ability in Laboratory or Operations (Manufacturing) environments (3 to 5 years)
  • 3 to 5 years of functional experience in EHS
  • Experience having optimally developed and implemented an EHS strategy for a manufacturing safety environment.
  • Availability to travel 50% of the time between Mexico City and San José Iturbide (company's shuttle is available for this activity)

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Knowledge of applicable legislation as well as demonstrated ability to deal effectively with regulatory authorities, government officials and senior management.
  • Project management: optimally and efficiently lead projects across functions and teams within a manufacturing environment.
  • Master's Degree or equivalent experience
