Responsabilities

  • Develop and or support a robust Commodity strategy for Indirect and Capital ensuring alignment to the business needs and including consideration of technical supplier expertise, commercial and contract aspects, desired service level and supply base benchmarking.
  • Identify opportunities for the deployment of both Indirect and Capital projects both with Corporate and different manufacturing sites of Appleton to develop a strategic yearly plan to support the commodity, capital owners and facilities users to secure the correct functioning of different areas of the facilitates and the company.
  • Work with cross functional areas (i.e. plant managers, maintenance areas, too crib areas, Engineering, Operations, Materials, Purchasing, Finance and Human Resources to make sure the Indirect, MRO and Capital initiatives are deployed as per the Capital plan, facilities program and expected services level.
  • Develop a solid and strong supply base or service providers, equipment and machinery vendors, original equipment manufacturers, distributors and facilities & maintenance service providers to support all Appleton sites needs in terms of Indirect, MRO, Facilities and Capital needs.
  • Manage around 200 suppliers, service and facilities providers to attend the need of all Appleton sites including Mexico, USA and Canada.
  • Communicate regularly the commodity strategy for Indirect and Capital across the organization and different manufacturing sites.
  • Formulate negotiation strategies with suppliers to proactively drive cost reductions, mitigate risk and secure the best cost acquisition for services, indirect materials, equipment or capital.
  • Actively approaching new suppliers and serve as a link between sites and service providers
  • Identify new opportunities, services or technologies for innovation to improve service levels of functioning/performance of equipment or machinery.
  • Must be involve an indepth understanding of the service contracts for the different service and facilities providers and negotiate along with Human Resources and Finance all contract clauses and final sign off of contracts.
  • Be responsible for total supplier performance and service level. Measuring and managing periodically the service and quality provided by vendors vs. expected targets, and make sure are in compliance to agreements and contract.
  • Support the plants/sites on day to day base for any Indirect, MRO or Capital issues, while not being hands on but operating at a strategic level and escalate when necessary.

Requirements:


  • 5 to 7 years as a Commodity Manager of Facilities Manager or Sourcing Manager
  • Prior experience in supply chain management.
  • Knowledge of best practices in procurement.
  • Education: Industrial, Admin or Engineering Degree or Bachelor ́s Degree in Supply Chain Management
