Global Ocean Procurement Pricing Associate (L07)

will develop an ocean freight fact-based profile incorporating volume, price, service, carrer profile and sourcing constraints for the ocean procurement team to support their aggressive engagement with suppliers

The role will focus on current PepsiCo managed Ocean freight operations while building new capabilities to scale and expand ocean freight operations to supplier-managed operations in close coordination with I/E procurement capability.

The role will

support the ocean procurement managers in the

preparation and maintenance of paper or digital RFQ, RFI, and RFP throughout the sourcing events and across years building a historical base. The role will

coordinate with carriers insuring complete and accurate information and will conduct

analysis of the RFP for opportunities and other considerations to drive better rates and service for PEP.


Responsibilities

Responsibilities:


  • Develop ocean freight factbased profile, incorporating volume, price, service requirements, carrier profiles, and sourcing constraints for procurement team
  • Manages preparation and maintenance of paper and or electronic Request for Information, Request for Quotes, and Request for Proposals throughout the sourcing event
  • Provide data analysis and global bid/tender analytics to support key projects/savings initiatives including maintaining spot pricing
  • Provide carriers with required information for participating in sourcing event.
  • Analyze RFP for optimization opportunities, including lane bundles, service needs, transshipment considerations
  • Utilize and leveragesourcing/procurement systems, knowledge of transportation procurement principles and analysisto drive results and sourcing optimization
  • Support an integrated global Ocean freight Excellence organization to deliver cost transformation, net revenue growth, service excellence, and PEP+ benefits for PEP
  • Track and report KPIs for global Ocean freight carriers as it relates to their performance vs bid
  • Guarantee operational continuity for the all sectors, through the right international logistic strategy definition for the ocean freight shipments in order to obtain the optimum service delivery, transportation time, and costs.

Qualifications

  • Qualifications / Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Logistics or applicable degree
  • 2-3 years operations, transportation w/ emphasis on data-analytics, modeling (ocean, air, international logistics)
  • Demonstrated data-anlytics / forecasting ability using industry standard tools
  • Experience with basic procurement principles and activities (RFQ/RFP), etc.
  • Ability to positively influence teams outside of direct responsibility and across multiple business units
  • Capable of working in a remote work group and being managed by a remote manager
  • Utilize technical/functional knowledge that creates opportunities and solves business problems
  • Ability to identify business issues and escalate in a timely fashion
  • Self-starter with attention to detail and experience leading multiple teams
  • Ability to work collaboratively and proactively across multi-functional, sector, and business teams
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; proactively communicates using appropriate methods for situation and audience in clear, concise and professional manner
  • English Fluency both written and verbal required; Exceptional communication skills across global businesses (additional languages a plus)
  • Strong track record to manage multiple competing cross-functional priorities
  • Experience using IT platforms and tools (IE: carrier sites, visibility, procurement-bid)
  • Experience directly leading cross-functional competencies, people, and teams
  • Ability to navigate through ambiguity and adapt quickly to a changing environment
  • Strong team player passionate about collaborating, coordinating, and committed to teamwork in all situations
