Field Service Engineer
Koops Automation of Mexico is looking for a Field Service Engineer to join our team. The Field Service Engineer is responsible for providing onsite service and support to customers.

Acts as onsite technical resource for customers on assigned visits to resolve customer technical issues with both Koops and non-Koops built automation equipment in a timely fashion in order to maintain maximum customer satisfaction.

This relates all technology related to automated production equipment, including mechanical components and actuators, electronic controls and sensors, PLC's, robots and robotic controllers, electrical wiring and control panels, and pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

This position will be based out of our Monterrey service location, and is responsible for providing on-site client installation, repairs, maintenance, and upgrades of their equipment.


Responsibilities:

Support the client
  • Troubleshoot issues and resolve any requests or concerns that come up in a timely manner. Perform tests to ensure systems are errorfree. Maintain relationships with customers and follow company guidelines. Look for opportunities to upgrade/improve existing equipment to better suit the customer's needs.

Equipment and service
  • Troubleshoot each problem and guide customers on how to properly use equipment. Create reports of customer service calls when needed. Complete needed mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and or programming services as needed. Coordinate with Service Project Managers to help quote jobs and/or define required parts and services.

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3 to 5 years of applicable Controls Engineer, Plant Maintenance, and/or Factory Automation Equipment related experience
  • Ability to build strong relationships with the customer and display excellent communication skills with expertise in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and solving complex problems involving mechanical and/or control logic/programming related issues.
  • Ability and willingness to travel on short notice
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally (primarily to the US)
  • Personal flexibility and acceptance of frequent and/or short notice schedule or priority changes driven by unexpected customer needs that may arise
  • Problemsolving skills and mechanical aptitude
  • Cognitive and motor skills are imperative
  • Spanish: Fluent; English: intermediate advanced
  • Must reside in/near Monterrey Area, primarily a homebased position. Requires daily travel to customer sites. Most will be primarily located within a 23 hour radius of Monterrey, but travel to Koops' campus in Irapuato and customer sites in other regions of Mexico is also expected.
