The System Engineer IT - Endpoint Management position will work closely with system administrators and infrastructure teams to ensure that Gates' Personal Computers and mobile devices are managed and secured appropriately using remote administration and configuration tools.

This includes developing configuration standards, distributing clients, building operating system images, and ensuring compliance with security standards.

The System Engineer IT - Endpoint Management position reports to the Sr. IT Manager - End User Services. Responsible to install, configure, upgrade and manage the endpoint management tools. Provides consultation to IT users for all aspects of end-user computing and desktop-based LAN systems software.


What You'll Do

  • Define, implement, and deliver new functionality in endpoint management systems such as SCCM, Intune, and MS Store in order to meet changing business needs.
  • Define, deploy, and maintain patches and security updates.
  • Assist IT project teams to deploy required software.
  • Document solutions to problems and develop enduser guidelines.
  • Provide onsite training to users.
  • Participate in the testing and evaluation of new desktop packages and implement prototypes.
  • Consults with and makes recommendations to IT users on selection of hardware and software products to address business requirements.
  • Manage the life cycle and inventory of IT hardware and software within the Asset Management and CMDB system.
  • Align to corporate IT standards and strategies

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of IT work experience, supporting and maintaining IT infrastructure technologies
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or another related field.
  • Good interpersonal, written and oral, communication skills, and ability to communicate in both technical and nontechnical language with all levels of staff and management
  • Ability to identify requirements/needs, assess solutions and provide recommendations
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment and influence others
  • Solid knowledge in Windows client operating systems, Microsoft 365, SCCM/Intune, desktop environment, collaboration tools and security tools
  • Experience with software packaging and installation scripting
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory and AD Group Policy modelling
  • Highly passionate and selfmotivated

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in a global, multilingual environment
  • Experience with highly diverse PC configuration needs for knowledge workers and shopfloor personnel
