What are your key accountabilities?

  • You'll be the expert of local Tax advice, focused on Corporate Income Tax, Transfer Pricing, and VAT.
  • Prepare BEPS (Local File)
  • Review the financial statements and other records to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Ensure the business complies with all federal, state and local tax laws and regulations.
  • Review the company's financial statements, such as income statements and balance sheets, to determine the appropriate tax treatment of transactions.
  • Assist with the setup of sales tax product codes.
  • Provide advice on Nutreco policies, processes, approvals, operational issues, etc.
  • Facilitate internal discussions amongst functional stakeholders to reach practical business solutions to complex contracting issues and provide such functional stakeholders with any contract documents necessary to ensure a thorough evaluation of issues.
  • Use the corporate Indirect Tax tools and align with ERP processes. Manage the company's tax planning and compliance activities to ensure that all tax obligations are met.
  • Set up clear business models for Indirect Tax in cooperation with Nutreco Group Tax (NGT)
You'll oversee the formulation and execution of Group Tax strategy:
processes, policies, guidelines, risk control framework, monitoring, compliance.

  • Any changes related to tax information on external documents discussed with and validated by NGT.
  • Assist with providing businesses with indirect tax advice and support.
  • New Indirect Tax flows are discussed and agreed with NGT before implementation.
  • Check each supplier and customer contract with NGT on correct Indirect Tax data input in ERP.
  • Upfront involvement NGT in case of business process changes to ascertain timely correct Indirect Tax adjustments in the ERP system if and when necessary. Demonstrate resilience in driving change.
  • Proactively address changing priorities and operating environment.
  • Demonstrate ethical, balanced judgment and decisiveness when consequences of the decision involve potential risk to business results, team, or self.
  • Define and maintain an uptodate internal control framework linked to the key risks.
  • Assist with research and planning related to indirect tax issues.
Continuous improvement / Change agent

  • Actively works with the OpCo's on improving the local admin/finance and Tax processes by implementing the best practices as found within and outside the organization. This results in a continuous improvement in terms of quality, robustness and efficiency.
  • Act as a change and improvement agent by operationalizing improvement initiatives to strengthen the contract management and internal control.

  • Prepare and file complex tax returns.
  • Compile supporting financial statements and documents.
  • Review returns prepared by junior accountants.
  • Coordinate tax and legal matters, serving as primary point of contact for local auditors.
  • Assist with federal and state tax audits.
  • Respond to inquiries from regulatory agencies.
  • Perform tax research, staying up to date on changes.
  • Manage planning and control cycles, including budget, forecast, monthly analyses and interpretation of operating results.
  • Works for accuracy, they need excellent attention to detail.
  • Stay updated on the latest tax laws to advise companies on changes they need to make. A senior tax accountant is also responsible for junior tax accountants.
