As we embark on a journey to leverage data more effectively and enhance our analytics capabilities, we are seeking a Data Solutions Architect to spearhead these initiatives. This role is crucial for transforming our data landscape, ensuring data integrity, and enabling advanced analytics and machine learning capabilities to support decision-making and product development.

Role Description

The Data Solutions Architect will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our data architecture, aligning it with business objectives to support data analytics, business intelligence, and data-driven decision-making. This individual will play a key role in developing and overseeing our data management strategy, including data modeling, integration, storage, and governance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data architecture within the fintech or banking sectors, with a deep understanding of modern data processing technologies and practices.

Modularization:

Separate the current mono-repo application layers and introduce new solutions aimed at greater scalability, security, resilience and team productivity. Focusing on data layer partitioning strategies and defining new database models optimized to host the company's core data.

Migrations:

Work closely with Cloud, Cybersecurity, Platform and Resilience teams to build architecture transitions to a desired future state in a multi-region and multi-zone model. As well work with Data teams on the migration of database technologies and introduction of new ones. Consolidate an event-based platform for different use cases. Focusing on the data migration process, guaranteeing consistency and availability of data.

Modernizations:

Transform legacy applications to the best fit and AI enabled software development processes on top of Gitlab and AWS Services to a vanguard state. Focusing on assessing and defining data models, according to the overall Data Strategy.

Modernize the data transformation process, optimizing time and efficient use of resources. In addition, ensure the correct and specific procurement of data, during the process of data model separation, as part of the migration plans.

Modernize current Data solutions, ensuring that they adhere to reference architectures and patterns, ensuring that the use case in question has the correct architecture and solution.

Modernize the dependency of data processed by other areas of interest, ensuring that they consume the processed information, through efficient and easy access interfaces, guaranteeing the decoupling for dependencies with data sources.

Bankalization:

Detailed design and documentation for bank implementations and integrations with vendor providers in a middleware strategy decoupling strategy, while designing with data teams a comprehensive set of data integrations, ingestions, and reporting for financial and regulatory compliance.

Product, Technology and Data Departments

The Product, Technology and Data Departments are made of software development and operations activities organized as Tribes and Chapters, which contain Product, Cybersecurity, Architecture, Operations, Infrastructure, Engineering, IT and Operations responsibilities. This role will report to the Director of Technology and will work with business Stakeholders, Tribe and Chapter leaders on establishing architectures for initiatives, projects that cross-cut Chapter and Tribe's deliverables and dependencies. The Data Solutions Architect is the key reference on coaching and mentoring leaders and teams to the desired future state architecture. A successful Data Solutions Architect will be the person who can have good connections, communication and relationships with key stakeholders and leaders in Konfío, articulating and delivering sophisticated architectures, and enabling outstanding execution and delivery of building blocks, while enabling visual and contextual governance of the architecture and risk. Also experience with the Mexican market, regulatory bodies and culture is a must for this role.

As a Data Solutions Architect at Konfío, your day-to-day activities will span across the development of new complex projects, operational management of architecture, conducting product reviews, and managing the technology stack to ensure our solutions are scalable, reliable, and secure. Architectural Design and Development

Design and implement scalable, high-performance data architectures that support real-time and batch data processing. Develop data models and schemas that facilitate data ingestion, storage, processing, and access across multiple platforms and applications.

Frugal Design of New Capabilities and Features for our Serverless Data Platform:

Champion a frugal design philosophy in the development of new capabilities and features for the serverless data platform. Ensure that enhancements are not only innovative but also resource-efficient, aligning with best practices for serverless architecture. Collaborate closely with development teams to balance functionality with optimal resource utilization. Strive for excellence in maintaining a reliable, efficient, and scalable serverless data environment.

Data Models Design and Development:

Design, modernize, maintain and create comprehensive data models that serve as the backbone for efficient data management. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and logic and translate them into meticulously crafted data models. These models should encompass the entire data lifecycle, from ingestion and storage to processing and retrieval, ensuring seamless interoperability across diverse platforms and applications.

Data Schema Development:

Lead the development of robust data schemas that facilitate the organized and efficient storage of diverse data sets. Work closely with stakeholders to understand data relationships, dependencies, and constraints. Craft flexible and extensible data schemas that accommodate evolving business needs, fostering agility in data management.

Metadata Management:

Oversee the creation and maintenance of comprehensive metadata repositories. Define and implement metadata standards to enhance data discoverability, understandability, and traceability. Empower teams with the necessary metadata to make informed decisions regarding data usage, lineage, and dependencies.

​​Data Integration and Pipeline Development

Design and develop robust data pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and distribution, ensuring high data quality and availability. Integrate disparate data sources, both internal and external, into a cohesive and accessible data ecosystem.

Data Management and Governance

Establish data governance policies and practices to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security. Oversee data lifecycle management, including data quality, metadata management, and data lineage.

Technology Stack Management

Evaluate and select data storage, processing, and analytics technologies that align with business needs and architectural goals. Stay up-to-date with emerging data technologies and practices to continuously evolve the data architecture.

Collaboration and Leadership

Work closely with IT, engineering, and business teams to define data requirements and ensure architectural solutions meet business needs. Lead cross-functional teams in the implementation of data projects, providing technical guidance and ensuring alignment with architectural standards.

Operational Management of Architecture

Oversee the current architectural data framework and infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security. Identify areas for improvement or optimization within the existing architecture and implement strategic solutions to enhance system performance and scalability.

Analytics and BI Support

Collaborate with analytics and business intelligence teams to provide data in a usable format for insights generation, reporting, and decision-making. Support the implementation of advanced analytics and machine learning models by providing the necessary data infrastructure and tools.

Product Reviews and Strategy

Conduct thorough reviews of existing and upcoming products to ensure they meet architectural standards and best practices. Collaborate with product management teams to align product development efforts with architectural strategies and roadmaps, ensuring a seamless user experience and technology alignment.

Project Leadership and Collaboration

Lead cross-functional teams through the project lifecycle, from conception to deployment, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget. Foster collaboration among project teams, stakeholders, and external partners to ensure clear communication and alignment on project goals and architectural decisions.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

Drive innovation by exploring new technologies, tools, and methodologies that can enhance the architectural framework and development processes. Promote a culture of continuous improvement by leading retrospectives and lessons learned sessions to identify areas for improvement in architectural practices and project delivery.
