Job Title GBS Project Lead (SCRUM Leader)

Summary
The Global Business Services (GBS) Project Lead reports directly to the Associate Manager, PMO, Process Optimization and Automation.

As a member of the GBS Project Management Office (PMO), this role will be responsible for help the Scrum team work more effectively by skillfully removing obstacles and distractions that may impede the team from meeting goals.

Project Lead is the liaison between the Scrum team and people or teams outside the Scrum team.

The GBS Project Lead will work across all process areas and will support the GBS business functions by:


  • Mentor & coach Process Optimization Analyst (Green Belts) and team members in project work, helping them understand and use SCRUM, Lean, Six Sigma Methodologies for successful and timely completion of projects
  • Lead projects from inception to benefit realization and control and oversight for all GBS initiatives (Intake, Automation, Optimization, Sourcing, etc.) to enable business transformation and drive global process optimization
  • Deliver results that achieve or surpass projects targets based on ROI, customer satisfaction, or employee satisfaction improvement objectives
  • Lead crossfunctional teams, including members of business/functional staff and external vendors
  • Monitors and communicates the results to GBS GPLS and Business Directors about process improvement projects/ initiatives to management


In accomplishing the above services, the GBS Project Lead will be required to learn and understand the GBS strategy and vision.

The Project Lead will be responsible to fulfill core project management duties throughout the entire project lifecycle including:


  • Lead and coach scrum adoption.
  • Stakeholder management
  • Schedule development, monitoring and execution
  • Collaborate with other scrum masters to improve the methodologies' efficiency.
  • Quality management including risk and issue management
  • Arrange and optimize product backlog.
  • Change management


The GBS Project Lead will be an active member of Hershey's Global Business Services PMO and will support continuous improvement of the GBS PMO.


Responsibilities:


  • Project Management_
Lead and provide project management support for all GBS related projects in support of the GBS strategic vision. Using industry standard project management practices, drive projects to successful conclusion, delivering on time and within budget.
- _Project Management_
  • Develop list of potential projects (small to mediumsized project). Put together teams necessary to support each project. Manage and publish cost savings associated with each project. Complete all documentation associated with any changes and ensure that all vested departments are informed, trained, and participated at a level appropriate in any projects.
- _Remove Roadblocks_ - helps the team stay focused on tasks needed to be done in each iteration. Removes any distractions or roadblocks that can hinder the progress of the team.
- _Industry Expertise_
  • Maintains extensive knowledge and expertise in project management principles and techniques, industry best practices, and technologies used in ways of working
- _Teach Scrum Practices and Principles_ - helps new members understand the scope and vision of a product and ensures work does not slow down.

  • Project Communication & Metrics_
Through collaboration with each project team, provides regular project updates to GBS Leadership and stakeholders:

  • Provide regular (Daily, weekly, BiWeekly, Monthly), clear, concise project updates including status, risk identification and remediation plans, budget tracking, and resource capacity/constraints to GBS Leadership (VP, Directors), Steering Committees, and relevant stakeholders
  • Drive communication and collaboration with GBS project team members, as well as crossfunctional internal and external business partners to ensure successful and ontime project delivery
  • Support the collaborative review of monthly performance measurement output to GBS Leadership (VP and Directors) and/or project leadership
  • Build Relationships_
Through collaboration with each project team, Process Optimization, Process Automation and the GBS Project Management Office (PMO), identify continuous improvement opportunities related to each project:

  • Proven ability to establish collaborative relationships with Senior Leaders and key business stakeholders across The Hershey Company
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders affected by the GBS project portfolio, as well as the GBS Leadership who support these business partners
  • Embody Hershey Leadership behaviors, communicating clear and consistent messages, relying on data and facts to advocate a position, or overcome objections
