- Manages and provides drafting and design support to the engineering department by taking full drafting responsibility for assigned projects. This role will involve independent research to solve issues with engineering, marketing, manufacturing, and vendors.
- Prepares layouts of subassemblies or project portions that demand high precision and expertise from engineering data in areas like Mechanical Systems, Chiller layouts, Pneumatic & Instrumentation Diagrams, Pressure vessel code, weldment, Sheet metal fabrication, and Pipe routings.
- Handles engineering changes post-investigation of change requests, resolves shop issues, and suggests redesigns for enhanced performance or cost reduction.
- Verifies the work of others similar in complexity to own tasks.
- Possesses proficient knowledge of manufacturing processes such as Welding, Bending, Brazing, Assembling, etc.
- Demonstrates proficient knowledge of design procedures including retrieval and application of information from engineering standards and schematics, as well as purchasing and manufacturing specifications for drawing and Bills of Material preparation, release, and revision.
- Shows knowledge of SAP or other Material Resource Planning software to analyze existing material and BOMs.
- Exhibits leadership by imparting technical and practical knowledge to less experienced team members.
- Technical/Associate Degree is a must.
- Proficient knowledge of 3D design software (CREO experience required).
- Basic understanding of PDM software (Windchill).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
