Eaton's VEH Vehicle Group division is currently seeking a Regional APQP Engineer.


What you'll do:


PRIMARY FUNCTION:


This position acts as the voice of Quality as a core team member on PROLaunch New Product Development and Standard Transition Process teams.

The position is responsible to complete all project deliverables assigned to the Manufacturing APQP Quality function, including standard Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) Advanced Product Quality Planning documents.

This role works to ensure AIAG requirements for Advanced Product Quality.


ESSENTIAL FUNTIONS:


  • Core team member on PROLaunch NPD and STP teams.
  • Lead Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
Deliverables as assigned on each New Product Development (NPD) or System Transfer Program (STP) team, including the following examples:

Special Product Characteristics (SPC) determination, Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Control Plans, Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Customer Requirements, Eaton Manufacturing PPAP, Early Production Containment.


  • Act as the quality APQP lead on PROLaunch teams.
  • Act as the representative of the entire Quality function on the PROLaunch NPD and STP teams, functionally direct additional quality resources only as required to support the projects: Supplier Quality Engineers, Customer Quality Support, Region Quality Manager, Plant Quality Manager and Engineers, etc.
  • Lead crossfunctional teams on projects to improve the APQP compliance on current products, across multiple manufacturing plants and with the customers. Examples include Special Characteristic capability improvement, standardization of methods for APQP documents, such as PFMEA and Control Plans, or standardization on approaches, such as MSA and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
  • Participate as a Quality Management System (QMS) Fresh Eyes auditor each year

Qualifications:


SPECIALIZE KNOWLEDGE:


Education and Skills required to meet position qualifications:
BS Degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Quality, or related field)
5+ Years Manufacturing process knowledge
Presentation and facilitation knowledge
Self-Motivated individual who is highly organized and capable of collaborating with various stakeholders to achieve assigned projects and tasks
Strong understanding of AIAG tools, statistical tools, and analysis
Problem Solving
Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA)MSA
Process Capability
Control Plans
Gage Plans
Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) requirements
Statistical Process Control (SPC)

Preferred Specialized Knowledge (not required to be qualified for position):
American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Quality Engineer
Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification.

  • Strong understanding of product launch tools (Pro-Launch), business systems (Eaton Business System-EBS) and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills
