The electrical engineer's primary function is to ensure that the electrical systems are fully operational and reliable as required to support the manufacturing process's scheduling and rate requirements and all products produced fully within specification in accordance with regulatory requirements and World Class operations.


This position maintains and troubleshoots electrical systems including but limited to the following equipment: main power substation, electrical transformers, High-Medium-Low voltage power, cable trays/conduits, emergency power, lighting, lightning protection, high capacity electric motors, etc.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage & monitor all aspects related to electrical systems in the plant, including but not limited to high and medium voltage electricity, emergency power plant, transmission and distribution circuits, illumination, high capacity electrical motors, electrical substations, etc.
  • Ensure that proper asset reliability plans are in place and identify cost savings or efficiency improvement opportunities for the electrical related systems.
  • Manage capital projects for electrical systems improvement effort. Responsible for capital cost estimates, Electrical system design, selecting equipment, preparing equipment and construction specifications, overseeing installation and startup of electrical equipment and systems, troubleshooting.
  • Analyze and monitor operational data consumption of electricity, identifying improvements and implementing savings projects. Systematically report the data and analyzed results, keeping senior management informed.
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Assist maintenance engineers in troubleshooting.
  • Create and execute cost reduction projects.
  • Ensure communication with maintenance personnel and purchasing team to anticipate future parts/services requirements to maintain electrical equipment performance and eliminate downtime.
  • Verify that technical documentation, reports, and communication activities are clear/concise and according with company regulations. This position should be able to quickly provide any documents required by management or during internal / external audits.
  • Performs engineering duties including manufacturing planning and the installation, operation, and maintenance of electrical apparatus to ensure that projects are completed ontime and as per the defined goals.
  • Troubleshoots electrical device problems to ensure that issues are resolved efficiently.
  • Analyzes and evaluates new or improved electric components. Includes power generation, transmission and distribution, illumination, etc.
  • Ensuring regulatory requirements and standard codes as: NOM, NEC, IEEE, ANSI/NETA, STPS.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the maintenance manager
