    Roles and Responsibility

    PositionSummary:

    TheSoftware Developer in Test (SDET) is a valuable member of our agile developmentteam responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our softwareproducts. As SDET, you will work closely with senior test engineers, softwaredevelopers, product owners, and quality control engineers to design, develop,execute, and maintain comprehensive test strategies and frameworks. Your rolewill involve designing, developing, and executing manual and automated testsand frameworks, ensuring the efficient and timely delivery of high-qualitysoftware solutions.

    Responsibilities:

    Thisis intended as an outline of the essential functions of the position. Actual metrics that measure job performance may be set forth in a separateperformance management documentation.

    Dutiesand Responsibilities:

    · TechnicalExpertise: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, includingsoftware engineers and product owners, to understand user stories, features,and epics, and contribute to developing acceptance and testing criteria.Participate in sprint planning and estimation sessions to determine the testingscope and effort required. Report and document test results and defects,following established processes and guidelines. Collaborate with the team totrack and analyze testing metrics, such as tests executed and defects identified,to contribute to overall testing effectiveness. Assist with defect root causeanalysis.

    · Teamwork: Supportthe QC team members in achieving product release delivery goals.

    · Execution/Results: Assistin designing, developing, and maintaining manual and automated test suites,test cases, and test scripts. Execute manual tests and assist in the executionof automated tests to validate software functionality and identify and reportdefects. Work closely with senior test engineers and software developers toinvestigate, debug, and resolve software defects, ensuring the delivery ofhigh-quality software products.

    · Continuousimprovement: Contribute to continuously improving testing processes,tools, and methodologies to enhance software quality and efficiency. Stayupdated with industry best practices, emerging trends, and new technologiesrelated to software testing.

    · Communication: Communicateeffectively with software developers, product owners, QC team members, andother stakeholders to understand user stories, resolve issues, and providestatus updates on testing activities. Articulate complex technical concepts ina clear and concise manner. Participate in team meetings and discussions,providing insight and contributing to decision-making processes.

    · All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    QualificationsRequirements and Skills

    · Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Technology ora related field (or equivalent work experience).

    · 3-5 years of experience in software testing is preferred.

    · Experience designing and implementing comprehensive test plans,test cases, and scripts.

    · Basic understanding of testing methodologies, tools, andframeworks.

    · Proficient in manual testing techniques and methodologies.

    · Basic understanding of agile software development methodologiesand practices.

    · Proficient in creating SQL queries for test validation.

    · Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attentionto detail.

    · Good communication and collaboration abilities, with ateam-oriented mindset.

    Desired Skills:

    · Knowledge of the following: Oracle or rational DBs, SQL,UNIX/LINUX user commands/editors/shell scripts, web services, batch filescripting & testing java based applications.

    · Some experience with automation testing, using tools such asCoded UI, Selenium, Microfocus UFT formerly Quick Test Professional, JMeter,Soap UI, and Postman.

    · Experience with Jira or similar Agile product management tools.

    · Experience with TestRail or other test case management systems.

    · Strong willingness to learn and grow in the field of softwaretesting.
