Sourcing Supply Chain Specialist
Objective


Leads procurement activities of overseas in line with the X-Sourcing project, maximizing cost savings thru the procurement of lower supply costs and reduced freight costs, while maintaining and supporting production plans and delivery to customers.

Continuously proposing potential components to be added to the X-Sourcing ship-by-boat program.

Work with other X-Sourcing locations around the world and actively interacting with suppliers, logistics, purchasing and EDS / Component plants materials departments to grow the program and optimize the potential savings.


Monitor inventory levels of raw materials according to company goals, minimize time zone barriers, competitive cost structures against pure local, centralized inbound and outbound x-sourcing activities.

Develop plan for each part based on demand, sourcing location and logistics involved to support production needs.


Drive tactical analysis and multiple follow ups to avoid shortages of raw material and escalating to all levels on a proactive manner when potential risks are identified.

Lead meetings with suppliers and others involved to resolve supply issues.


Responsibilities/Skills

  • Develop plan for each part for the X-Sourcing shipbyboat program based on volume, pricing, manufacturing LT, transportation time, and other factors.
  • Develop and manage X-Sourcing project with the rest of Motherson X-Sourcing team to ensure continuous material flow at the minimum cost possible.
  • Drive tactical analysis and multiple follow ups to avoid shortages of raw material and escalating to all levels on a proactive manner when potential risks are identified. Lead meetings with suppliers and others involved to resolve supply issues.
  • Develop and run MRP type system separate from current Plex system and manage program components in parallel supporting current process at the time costs are being reduced thru the procurement of lower cost components.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with suppliers to achieve on time deliveries to plant
  • Procure foreign goods with comparative advantage over domestic goods
  • Participate in daily meetings with customers, suppliers, materials plant group and customs / logistics and other Motherson locations, to address shortages urgencies and follow up on root causes until resolved.
  • Establish and follow up on safety Stock, min/max and inventory policies strategy
  • Prepare and coordinate information between suppliers, purchasing, plant and any other member needed for improving deliveries
  • Ensures organizational compliance with inventory management policies, contractual requirements, and governmental regulations. Identifies, analyzes, develops, and implement best practices, processes, and procedures for SCM.
  • Drive change, compliance and continues improvement in the procurement organization
  • Responsible in supporting the daytoday procurement operations to ensure supplier compliance with timely deliveries on raw materials requirements.
  • Develop and maintain KPI's for this activity (including but not limited on material cost savings, on time delivery, # impacts to manufacturing plants, PF, PPV on X-Sourcing related components.
  • Monitor xsourcing shipments get received in system in full and accurately for smooth completion of receiving process.
  • Follow and enforce all EHS, Quality and Material's company policies
  • Comply with the fulfil environmental, safety and health legal requirements set out in the legislation and regulations of our customers and other applicable stakeholder's requirements to whom we are related to our activities and products, as well as those EHS requirements established by the Company.

Required Profile

Education and Experience

  • Administration or Engineering degree
Years of experience in automotive business, in procurement, materials, planning, logistics and/or sourcing

  • Supplier management and negotiation
  • Bilingual: (English and Spanish) written and verbal fluent as minimum (others like Mandarin, Cantones, Hindu are a plus).
  • Expert on ERP / MRP systems and EDI process
