Job Description:


Team:
System Engineering team within the Powertrain Solutions division


The simulation engineer works within the system engineering group to derive requirements for current and future powertrain components and subsystems, and to support the component engineering groups in detailed analysis of the component behavior under realistic engine and vehicle scenarios.

Primary Duties and Accountabilities

  • Responsible for continuous documentation and presentation within our worldwide network.
  • Responsible for performing 3D-CFD simulations of different components and subsystems using state of the art computer based simulation systems, processes, methods and standards in PS.
  • Manage and follow up activities for development of new projects in order to accomplish with internal and external customer requirements according to its specifications.
  • Create, evaluate and coordinate own 3D-CFD simulation tasks of different product designs used by the different customers.
  • Documenting and reporting project (i.e. process, simulation results and analysis) to the project team, internal and/or external customer.
  • Promote safety health and environment protection according to IS0 14001/OHSAS 18001.

Qualifications:

Related Engineering degree required (Master desirable), e.g. Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Information and Computing Technology, or comparable.

  • Language: Advanced (technical) English (written and oral)
  • Communication and presentation skills (in English)
  • Demonstrable experience with programming/scripting (preferably in Python)
  • Experience with 3DCFD simulation tools (e.g. Ansys CFX / Fluent, Comsol) (13 years experience required)
  • Experience with CAD tools (e.g. NX, Catia, SolidWorks, SpaceClaim, etc.)
  • Knowledge on combustion systems and ICE based powertrains
  • In depth knowledge in the theory of Fluid Mechanics
  • Postprocessing simulation data.
  • Excellent reporting skills (e.g. clear, concise, technically adequate).
  • Communication and presentation skills (advanced, in English).
  • Ability to work within a technical team effectively.
  • Methodical and diligent work style.
  • Proactive and selfmotivated.
  • Responsible and innovative

Desired:


  • Programming skills, desirable (e.g. Python, Matlab)
  • Knowledge on linux systems
  • Knowledge of powertrain systems (e.g. internal combustion engines, automotive parts, electrical machines, fuel cell)
  • Language: German (desirable)
  • International experience
