JOB SUMMARY
The Destination Sales Manager (DSM) collaborates with off-property sales channels to ensure property needs are met and sales efforts align effectively. They support the property by organizing and conducting site visits for off-property sales managers. The DSM drives business and meets revenue targets for all bookings through the Sales Office, focusing on implementing the brand's service strategy to enhance customer loyalty and experience.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
Required:
• High school diploma or GED; 4 years experience in sales and marketing, guest services, front desk, or related professional area.
OR
• 2-year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 2 years experience in sales and marketing or related professional area.
Preferred:
• Experience in large group sales.
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Sales and Marketing Responsibilities
• Collaborates with off-property sales channels to ensure property needs are met and sales efforts align effectively.
• Drives business and meets revenue goals for all bookings through the Sales Office.
• Up-sells products and services, with the ability to close sales.
• Actively promotes all facilities (Spa, Golf, Restaurants) to leisure guests and group planners.
• Assists in selling, implementing, and following up on group sales promotions.
• Provides recommendations to Sales Office and Area Sales associates regarding function space allocation.
• Builds and maintains relationships with new and existing customers for future bookings.
• Implements the brand's service strategy in the sales process and enhances customer loyalty through service excellence.
Site it Responsibilities
• Coordinates and conducts group site inspections/visits for remote sales offices.
• Collaborates with account/selling manager to plan creative site visits.
• Gathers customer data to plan effectively for site visits.
• Greets and assists site clients, ensuring a personalized experience.
• Acts as Personal Concierge to clients during site visits.
• Prepares staff for upcoming site inspections and sets quality standards.
• Develops group site standards and pricing guidelines to control expenses.
• Demonstrates expert knowledge on local attractions and market trends.
• Enhances business from existing accounts during site visits.
• Tracks bookings and leads from site visits.
Providing Exceptional Customer Service
• Engages customers by showcasing the property and surrounding key locations.
• Provides after-hours entertainment for customers.
• Ensures timely communication with remote sales offices.
• Partners with Event Management and Operations to exceed customer expectations.
• Executes exemplary customer service to drive satisfaction and loyalty.
• Understands the hotel's target customer and delivers personalized services.
• Supports Marriott's Customer Service Standards and hotel's Brand Standards.
