- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Proficiency in CAD tools such as SolidWorks and/or SolidEdge.
- Knowledge of Engineering organizational changes.
- Fluency in English speaking and writing.
- Experience in crafting machined parts (preferred).
- Ability to interpret engineering specifications for mechanical components.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Experience with CAD modeling and Mechanical Design.
- Capable of developing basic tolerance stack-ups and proficient in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Strong prioritization skills and efficiency in task completion.
- Self-starter with quick learning abilities.
- Familiarity with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) tools is a plus (preferably ANSYS).
- Knowledge of general metrology.
- Provide feedback and recommendations on specifications for existing products.
- Follow up on discrepancies in Bill of Materials and Drawings.
- Contribute to the design of mechanical assemblies, sheet metal, machined parts, etc.
- Evaluate and approve new vendors and part numbers through Engineering evaluation and performance testing.
- Manage production transfer between plants (international to Mexico) in source projects.
- Assist Supply Chain in resolving shortage issues by identifying alternate vendors.
- Participate in second source activities by approving alternate vendors.
- Address assigned Customer Complaints by enhancing or fixing the design.
- Support Technical Publications teams in refining operations manuals.
- Create and document field service kits, including upgrade and retrofit kits.
- Engage in cost reduction initiatives by approving new part numbers, modifying existing parts, or approving new vendors.
- Develop new Mechanical CAD 2D and 3D drawings as needed.
- Generate Engineering Change requests (CRs).
- Support new product development programs to ensure adherence to program schedules.
- Participate in prototyping and pilot runs as necessary.
- Introduce Engineered to Order products to production as required.
- Utilize product data management software and create bill of materials.
- Create models and detailed manufacturing drawings using CAD from concept sketches and legacy drawings.
