***Vertiv is hiring a Procurement Lead. As a member of the Americas Procurement Team, the person will lead the Procurement activities for an assigned Line of Business. This position will be the designated point of contact managing all Procurement activities related to new product introduction, product cost reductions, production transfers, supply chain design, and time to market. Working closely with the Engineering and Commodity teams to determine e-Auctions opportunities, monitor critical prototype parts, and perform risk & resiliency assessment. Responsible for reporting status to agreed KPIs.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage all Supply Chain deliverable as new products transition from ideation to pilot phase and into mass production with an exceptional level of speed, quality, and performance to exceed customer expectations.
  • Work with the project teams to steer the supply of parts from Vertiv's Strategic and Preferred Suppliers. Promote the idea of reusing what we already have suppliers, parts, etc.
  • Be an integral part of each Engineering project team with the resulting product being (a) having parts sourced from preferred supplier/manufacturer, (b) having a BOM and Cap Ex cost that meets business needs, (c) have a supply chain that delivers parts/products that meets market demands, and (d) maximize dual sourcing, (e) ensure material and supplier readiness for key development milestones, (f) eliminate any supply chain issues prior to product released to mass production.
  • Host Sourcing Review for businesscritical projects with cross functional teams for, and followup to ensure identified actions gets addressed properly in a timely manner.
  • Minimize the proliferation of new internal part number by driving parts lifecycle measurement and use of cornerstone parts.
  • Helps develop the prototype strategy with the engineering team and associated buyer to help quick turnaround on prototypes. Analyze the tooling needs and costs for a new product fixtures, test kits, etc
  • Review Supplier proposals and make appropriate recommendations. Coordinate with Regional and Global procurement to help mitigate supply risks.
  • Continuously work to solve any potential supply related issues for a new product development.
  • Ensure Procurement related KPIs are correctly reported, and work to drive improvements when KPIs are not met. Complete all Procurement related Gate deliverables during a new product development checklists, sourcing analysis, etc. Provide the Procurement vote on all relevant Gate review.
  • Participate in Regional and Global Commodity review as required.
  • Own all purchase BOM cost reporting & tracking activities.
  • Track all purchase cost changes and initiate/participate in new component reduction activities to stay below price target.
  • Complete the Monthly Procurement NPDI Reviews, and clearly identify projects that are not on plan, and why this is the case.
  • Lead/Participate in all NPD/NPI review meetings as required.
  • Coordinate launch plans with EMS suppliers to meet project schedule.

**QUALIFICATIONS


Minimum Job Qualifications:


  • 57 years of supply chain or related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • PMP (Project Management Professional) and/or CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Chain)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Detailoriented
  • Ability to work and multitask in a fastpaced environment
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Experienced in working within large matrixed teams and/or organizations.
  • Significant Supply Chain and Operations background preferred, with experience in multiple disciplines (e.g., NPI, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, etc.).
  • Clear understanding of Supply Chain and Procurement processes and strategy with an understanding of Vertiv's marketplace and industry business operations and standards.
  • Ability to build forwardthinking partnerships with suppliers along with leadership skills, particularly in complex, international, and cross functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple Projects management simultaneously, prioritization, communication, team player within Procurement and crossfunctional teams. Willing to work in different time zones (as required).
  • Ability to drive and accept change, continuous improvement processes.
  • Experience with Tools such as Oracle ERP, Oracle PLM

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic, Industrial), Supply Chain Operations and/or Business.
